Senator says she's surprised by Bush agenda
The Associated Press
Web Posted : 12/05/2003 4:17 PM
New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, in Texas for a book signing and to raise money for her campaign war chest, said Friday that President Bush won her husband's old job by running a campaign that masked his true leanings.
"We've made a hard right turn to pursue an extremist agenda that was certainly not advertised by the campaign President Bush ran," the former first lady said in an interview with the Austin American-Statesman before her book-signing.
"There's very little compassion," she said of Bush's much-touted compassionate conservatism. "There's even very little conservatism because a true conservative would not have put us into a half-trillion dollar current account deficit."
Clinton said she will not be entering the 2004 presidential race.
She said the Bush administration has tried "to undo everything the Clinton administration had done, and I took that kind of personally."
"Just on every front it became clear to me they wanted to undo the New Deal. It wasn't just the Clinton administration," she said.
Clinton attended a Thursday evening fund-raising event in Austin at the home of local advertising executive Roy Spence, who said about $100,000 was collected for Clinton's political account.
At Book People on Friday, hundreds of people lined up to get signed copies of her book, "Living History."

"Just on every front it became clear to me they wanted to undo the New Deal.Isn't that from like seventy years ago? Funny how this disgusting cow references FDR's "new deal" instead of LBJ's "Great Society". Wonder why?

If President had undone everything that the clinton administration had done, both hillary and bill would be in federal prison now.

ROTFLOL! Hillary needs to give it a rest! The whole world know Bush has NOT taken a hard right .. on the contrary, he's moved more to the center and adopted a lot of the liberal agenda.
What's so funny to me is Hillary's complaining and whining about what Bush is doing .. and what he's doing is implementing THE DEMOCRATS AGENDA ..!! Her party's policies are evidently taking America in the wrong direction ..?? Interesting.
Proving once again that Rush is right .. the dems are not upset because Bush has stolen their agenda .. the dems are upset because THEY'RE OUT OF POWER!!

[Hitlery] said the Bush administration has tried "to undo everything the Clinton administration had done, and I took that kind of personally." Actually, that is a very clever spin on the truth.
Translation?: Dubya is having to clean up the mess from the two-fer-one eight
year CIRCUS ACT that was the clintoon administration.
This traitor can no longer say anything that will surprise me. Not after this,
anyway ...

Maybe because the New Deal was the template and like all grand Communist plans, the flaw wasn't in the plan, it was in the execution. The right people weren't in charge. Lyndon just screwed it up somehow, or we'd be much further along by now.
Plus, there's that special connection to Eleanor, channeling and all.

She's mentioning it for the benefit of my Mother, who at 87, still thinks every Dem is an FDR. Mom didn't even know that the Dems are pro-abortion. The sad part is that she votes Dem.

I truly believe she has "illusions of grandeur" and that she is truly mentally ill.
She's the bad witch who stands before the mirror and recites "Who's the smartest women of all".
