I lay awake in bed for three hours straight this Thursday, panicking that I have become way too choosy when it comes to blind dates. After all, isn't New York full of lonely women in their 30s who think no one is good enough?

I agree she made a mistake in picking up the tab. However, apparently she is a writer and her story about expensing it probably sounded credible (and in fact might even have been true).

In any case, even if she is a Sharon-hating liberal, I have to sympathize. Any guy who drops her off first and doesn't offer to share the fare after being treated to a meal is complete jerk.

No man is good enough, and nothing ever lasts long for them, dinner is an exercise in seeing how many times she can trip him up or he can't make her laugh on cue or whatever.

These young liberal women are much like the caricature they paint of controlling men. They want a man THEY can control, who will not get in the way of her career, disagree with her in public (or in private, come to that), and who has ESP about her mercurial temper and mood swings, always doing and saying just the right thing.

In short, they have persistent PMS. Women like that are enough to scare a lot of good guys off of romance. I'd rather work on a crab boat in Alaska than face a future with a woman like that.

They are also the absolutely most humorless people on the planet.

They hate laughter in all its forms, and will instantly imagine some patriarchal, homophobic or racist sentiment behind any form of joke or comical remark.

And they screech when they talk, even if they whisper.

The worst, abaolute worst kind of woman to get involved with is the kind that constantly compares you (unfavorably) to an "ex." Then you ask (I actually do this) why they aren't still with him and the hemming and hawing starts.
