Got an argument of substance...An argument of substance would be wasted on you, I fear, as prior experience has borne out.
But one might ask you the same question, although it would be a waste of effort, as you yourself provided no argument, but rather simply an unsupported statement.
...or do you just parrot other posters' remarks?
Although it clearly went way over your head, what I was doing was utilizing your statement to highlight both its own absurdity and relative weakness.
No, no need to thank me. Glad I could clear that up for you.

"Christians are forced to pay taxes for public lands, yet are the only group not allowed to use that land for their Christian activities. Why do you think that is?"
Ummmm... Because other groups don't have Christian activities?

I dont know (like I said, I agree with Moore)...but apparently his colleagues thought he did... So as a Christian, we shouldnt be suprised at how he is being treated. Christians will eventually be treated far worse according to Scripture.

Slavery was made legal in Massachussets in 1641. Was this before or after the Pilgrims and puritans arrived.? You are right - slavery arrived in south in 1619, pilgrims landed in 1620 (Mayflower compact first govt document in America - Christian document), and there was slavery in the north at first, but it wasn't brought by Christians, and it was later outlawed and it didn't take a war to do it - Christians had it outlawed. If you want to try to make a case that CHRISTIANS brought slavery to America, good luck, you won't be able to do it. The Northwest Ordinance was issued (1789 - same time as 1st amendment was ratified!) that forbade slavery in the NW territories - a Christian document! My point was that slavery really took a foothold in the south but not in the north. It didn't last in the north.
Stonewall Jackson may have taught Sunday School to slave children, but he fought to keep them slaves.
That's not what Jackson said - you must know him beter than he knew himself. Stonewall Jackson fought to defend his homeland - that is clear from his writings, and he believed he was God's instrument. Since he won almost all of his battles and was arguably the BEST GENERAL in the civil war, credence is given to this belief. Try reading a biography.

Your remarks on non-Christians:
I never said that. I'm just saying they probably will become one by their own choice. They have no self control. No moral base. No internal law. No ideal.
(cut)
When they die of AIDs, it was their choice. No one else did it for them.
When they have so many children and no father to feed them, it's their call.
When they find themsleves in prison for rape, theft, murder - it's their call.
When they're imprisoned for purgery or slander, it too was their decision.
If they're run away teens living on the streets, they did it.
As a non-Christian, I must thank you for your so very charitable and accurate description of myself. May I share a few more traits and activities that are also central to my life and the lives of my non-Christian friends?
- We rape blind children. This activity is central to any well-rounded non-Christian's life, as it hits on 3 of our basic tenets:
- Rape, Rape and more Rape
- subjugation and degradation of the less fortunate
- spread of our beloved AIDS virus
- We eat puppies. Live ones.
- We watch Hollywood Squares. Heil Jim Jay Bullock! Heil!
- We urinate in Christians' coffee mugs when they leave their cubicles.
That is but a few of the many "little things" that help us non-Christians make sense of our sad, lonely and lost lives. If you would care to know more, please feel free to ask.
Yours in Satan,

"Wild Exaggeration"
I hope and pray that such is true, that I am found to be wildly exxagerating...I hope and pray that I am indeed a crack pot regarding my fears regarding the perils to our freedoms...I could live with your scorn...
That way I should not have to despise those such as you who are in denial and have put their heads in the sand at a time...while very late, we could have still put a stop to the growing madness in our national morality and society!

Islam believes that Jews, Christians, and Muslims all worship the same God. -Eric So does the Catholic Church, the largest branch of Christianity.
Catholic Church Catechism
841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."
Lumen Gentium, the Dogmatic Constitution On The Church from the Second Vatican Council.
I had a Islamophobic Catholic I know claim in a debate that it is not dogma (I asked him if "dogmatic" meant automated canine).
Pope John Paul II has re-iterated this view on numerous occasions.

Are you saying in 1641 that Massachussets wasn't Christian?
You claim that slavery wasn't brought by Christians? Who by then? Moslems? Hindus? Wiccans? The Christian writers of the Constitution recognized slavery as legal (although I would guess that some would have liked to find a way to abolish slavert but couldn't figure out how to do it.)
I know about Jackson (he was an ancestor of mine.) I find it sad that he fought to preserve slavery. There have been many good people with glaring flaws; Jackson was one.

I didn't say the 1st amendment didn't apply to the states, Sorry I misunderstood your comment #226:
The 1st amendment says "Congress shall make no law..." Does a county courthouse = Congress? Does the 10 commandments = "making law"? huh?
and your comment
#245:
REad it again: Congress (not judiciary) shall make no law... Repeat that over and over until you get it thru your head that judges CANNOT MAKE LAWS. Only Congress can establish a religion. Get it? A courthouse in backwater county is not Congress or a State legislature.
I just wanted to clarify that both Scalia and Rehnquist consider "an obtrusive year-round religious display" a violation of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment, even though there is no "Congress" or "law" involved in such displays.

So where do they talk about systematic repression of people for maintaining faith in "Red Hills and Cotton"? Where are the tales of gulags and imprisonment of pastors, where are the lurid descriptions of church burnings?
To: dmz
somebody wrote a book about the wit and wisdom of Spiro T Agnew once, doesn't mean that he actually had any. How much has earth worship cost us?
Prison costs for rapists, murderers, theives?
How many fatherless children are we supporting?
How many dieases are we forced to cure?
What's the cost of the "village" used to train rebelious children who are now running around like wild animals?
What do we do when the leader of the free world commits adultry, pergery, and obstruction of justice, and how much of our tax dollars went into it?
How many infants are being dismembered while still alive from a mothers womb, or being stuck in the skull by sissors to suck it's brains out?
How many of the elderly will be put to death this year by their own family members for greed? How many disabled people will be put to death?
How much will it cost to sooth the covetness of those who envy the successful?
Who's paying to clean up after these people?
The Ten Commandments say these things are not good, yet many here cheer when the commandments are removed from the publics eye. "Someone might read them!"
Someone might actually learn about a better system. That's the real fear. Without chaos within society, there's no need for a huge government power, and government power is more important than a freer, safer, happier, self accountable nation.
Government must be God, and all other Gods must be eliminated. This could never happen with self accountability standing in its way.

This takes the cake, as they say. When will fundamentalist Christians wake up to the extent to which they are being manipulated and used?
To: E Rocc
"On a governmental basis, the same thing that has guided us for over 200 years, our Constitution."
AH...heres the catch to that too. We are no longer following the constitution. It is being subverted by the courts and even the congress. But especially by the courts. Have'nt you heard ? That is an out dated document written by biggot's.
The guy called Moore who is trying to point that out! is being attacked for doing so. So how long do you think any part of this constitution thing is going to be arround at all.
"On a nongovernmental basis, we guide ourselves."
Can you say that about murders and Robbers and Rapists. Is that a good thing? I guess it is ok as long as they are guiding themselves. Even if you don't believe in the concept of original sin then you surely must be able to see it. We must be influenced away from it. Don't you think ?
