Mystery-ak's Mike is due home today for a two week RR. That time is being extended because they were "his kids" that were shot down yesterday in the helicopter. They'll be busy visiting families of the crash members.
Let's show this couple some good ol' FR support. Add comments, graphics, music. Ping your friends. (Don't ping mystery-ak, "The "do NOT disturb" sign is already placed on their door; they'll be busy ;~))

Mystery-ak's husband, 1SG Mike Milam, Co F 106th Avn, is back home for two weeks.
He's one of the reasons why we have - and have to - continue doing what we are doing here with our rallies and counter-protests, fighting the spin from the left and from the media, on the homefront.
There are 150,000 more just like him. God Bless them all. They are doing the right thing, and so are we. (I love you guys 'n gals)
Mike and mystery-ak: Thank you both, for your service. Now get some R & R!

Her husband's full name was mentioned today on my local radio station's national feed, as well as his statement.

Henceforth there shall be such a oneness between you that when one weeps, the other will taste salt."I had not heard this beautiful sentiment before. Apparently it is an old saying, author unknown, sometimes referred to as an old proverb but not from the Bible. On searching I found that it is incorporated into some wedding ceremonies. It is certainly a lovely expression of true love and unity.

It is so lovely..
Funny how Mr.B and I will sometimes bring home special treats to one another, and they are EXACTLY the same thing..
Mystery and her husband have that too..
I posted my love and prayers to them on another thread..
That quote made me think of them...because you see..
It was 20 years ago, we included it our wedding ceremony -I'm so glad that true love never dies..

Thank you for the thread, hoosiermama! This thread has been designated as an official destination for the Prayer Warrior Field Trips!
We have offered the following prayer for mystery-ak and his Mike on our prayer thread:
Beloved Merciful Father,
First of all, Father, we rejoice that our friend mystery-ak and his Mike will be able to have a reunion for several days. We call for Mike's safety in all his travels. We also ask for your blessing and overshadowing and protection of ALL our troops who are in any mode of transport whatsoever. Bless all who are engaged in or are soon to be engaged in their R&R leaves.
Over the last several days we have been stunned as the news has been unfolding of the helicopter crash containing our soldiers on their way to their much needed R&R. Father, we commend these precious soldiers, all of whom are too young, into your care and keeping. While these young soldiers were not actively bearing arms against the Enemy when they died, the Enemy was certainly perpetrating malicious warfare with the intent to demoralize our people into giving up on the ideals of Freedom and true Peace for the people in Iraq.
We remember at this time the ones who were wounded. Grant them healing, comfort, and inner peace to handle the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wounds that have taken place. Grant their loved ones an enormous capacity to understand that which is not understandable, and the ability to give their loved ones the support and encouragement which is the need of the hour.
Father, grant our people, our leaders, and our allies the continued Vision which is required to stay the course! Let not these young people have died in vain! Let not the lies of those who mutter and peep in the darkness begin to sound credible. Let the Truth refuting those lies be revealed clearly in every city, town, hamlet, home, and heart across this great nation. Father, we call forth the fervor of the early founding Patriots of Freedom. We call forth the commitment to back up with our vocal and active support and our treasure into the hands of those who are fighting the battles with their guns and bullets, and yes, helicopters. Father, lay upon the hearts of our leaders and those who have decision input the guidance of whatever is your Will and Plan in the unfoldment of events in Iraq, Afghanistan and other areas of concern or potential conflict.
We ask that you will comfort, heal, and give extraordinary strength to those families who are grieving the loss of their loved ones. We have such a huge debt of gratitude to these who have given all and to their families who have surrendered their most precious treasure. Father, as we have prayed before, we pray again that you will convey directly to the hearts of those grieving a tangible knowing of that gratitude which we are at a loss to ever repay. We also pray that you will convey to each one who has given all, that same appreciation and knowledge of the honor in which we esteem them, and the pledge that we will not forget them and their service.
Father, we remember once more the words of William Stephenson, who reminds us that we MUST give an accountability of our lives in time of war.
"Dear Lord,
Lest I continue
My complacent way
Help me remember
Somewhere out there
A man died for me today
--As long as there be war
I then must
Ask and answer
Am I worth dying for?" *
Grant us the grace to know how to begin to make the answer turn out to be "yes."
We pray all this together, for we know that as we unite, the prayers we offer somehow become greater than what we as individuals can offer. We know and trust that according to your Laws that somehow there is a multiplication. Please, Father, maximize our prayer efforts. Join our own efforts from this forum with each and every prayer group and individual who may be praying for our troops throughout the world. Adjust all our prayers to be in alignment with your Holy Will.
We are grateful that you hear us, and that you will in turn speak to us in that quiet whisper which thunders in our hearts when we turn aside from the distractions and truly wait upon you.
Amen
*Taken from the book, "A Man Called Intrepid" by William Stevenson about William Stephenson, the head of British intelligence services prior to and during WWII. I HIGHLY recommend it!! ~ tex

I somehow got my pronoun scrambled. I wrote, "mystery-ak and his Mike"...of course it should have been "HER Mike!"
My apologies. Welcome home, Mike, and have a great visit!

Please tell Mike how much we appreciate him and his fellow GIs for their service. You two have a wonderful time together. So sorry that part of your special time has to be spent visiting others. What I mean by that is; I'm just so sorry that something so horrific had to happen to anyone, making it necessary for you to have to do it. Prayers going up for everyone.
WELCOME HOME MIKE!!!!!!

I had the distinct privilege of sending care packages to Mystery-Ak and Mike's son Jonathan while he was here in Wisconsin earlier this year.
There are no nicer folks in all the world and I am proud to know them - even if it's only in cyber space.
God Bless them all.
