President Bush's Message to the Grassroots: "I Need You"
Bush Team Leaders ^ | 10/28/03 | President George W. Bush

Posted on 10/28/2003 1:09:13 PM PST by Marcus Alonzo Hanna

Dear Republican,

Over the last few months, Laura and I have traveled the country and have been humbled by the enthusiastic support we have been given.

Our country has faced many challenges in the last two and half years and we are meeting these challenges at home and abroad. We're defeating the enemies of freedom. And at the same time, we're confronting challenges to build prosperity for our nation and a more compassionate society.

Every test has revealed the true character of America. And no one in the world can doubt the spirit and will and strength of the American people.

We are meeting the challenges of our time but there is much more to be done and I need your support. Will you join me in these efforts by volunteering for my re-election campaign as a Bush Team Leader?

http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/

As a Bush Team Leader you will be asked to help by volunteering at local events, hosting your own events, registering new voters, turning out voters on Election Day and more. Most importantly, you will be asked to recruit more Bush Team Leaders to help us win in November 2004. Please sign up to be a part of this important effort today.

http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/

The challenges we face cannot be met with timid actions or bitter words. They will be overcome with optimism and resolve and confidence in the ideals of America.

We are acting to advance human freedom and liberty and making the world and America more secure. We took action to create jobs and get the economy growing again.

We acted on principle. You did not send me to this office to mark time. You sent me here to restore dignity and honor to the White House and to help build a safe and prosperous and caring nation. Will you join me in this effort by becoming a Bush Team Leader and volunteer your time?

http://www.GeorgeWBush.com/SignUp/

I want to thank you for the work that you will do in the months to come. There is no question in my mind that with your help we are laying the foundation to win a great victory in November of 2004.

Sincerely,

George W. Bush

P.S. Again, thank you for making my campaign strong at the grassroots level all across the country. I am grateful to the over 300,000 Americans that have contributed to my campaign and the millions more who've signed up on the campaign email list. And I am grateful to everyone that chooses to volunteer in support of this effort. I need you to make certain your friends and family register to vote. I need you to make phone calls, send emails, help organize rallies, put up signs, and get out the vote. I need you to volunteer in my campaign today.

That's wonderful, Mr. President.

How about being conservative first, instead of alienating us?

Arguing for the expiration of the assault weapons ban and reigning in your HUGE binge of non-military spending would be good starts.

The potential damage done by one Democratic administration is miniscule compared to what awaits us if there are no conservatives running for office.

You vastly underestimate the damage that can and will be done by any RAT administration.

GWB can get re-elected without them ...

Don't take that for granted. Wouldn't be prudent.

U.S. Not Ready for Total Abortion Ban, Bush Says
 Oct 28, 2:08 PM (ET)
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush said on Tuesday the United States is not ready for a total abortion ban, but he would sign a ban just approved by Congress on what opponents of the procedure call "partial birth" abortion.

"Yes, I'll sign the ban on partial birth abortion," Bush said at a White House news conference. "And no, I don't think the culture has changed to the extent that the American people or the Congress would totally ban abortions."

The Senate on Oct. 21 approved the ban on the procedure, sending the bill to Bush for his signature. The House of Representatives previously passed the bill.

Both houses of Congress have held prolonged debates on this specific procedure since 1995 and Congress has approved a ban by large margins. However, then-President Bill Clinton vetoed it because it did not contain an exception to protect the health of the woman.

Under the bill that has gone to Bush, a doctor could face up to two years in prison as well as civil lawsuits for performing a "partial birth" abortion, defined as intentionally killing a fetus as it is being delivered. The bill's sponsors say it entails sticking a sharp object into the base of the fetal skull.

Dear President Bush,

If you read this thread you will see how Democrats get elected. The unappeasables are so fun to watch.

Your Republican friend.

It's one Rat administration now, or no conservative in office for the foreseable future.

The Republican Party leadership is wildly out of control and must be reined in by the base. If you have a better idea how to do that, I'd like to hear it.

"You and the others are cutting off your nose to spite your face."

I'm not so sure...I can't speak fer the folks above, but many Conservatives feel frustrated and taken for granted by the Bush Administration's less-than-stellar domestic policy performance to date. I'm 100% behind him on the War on Terror and will most likely vote for him in 2004; however, I'd like to see him actually cut some domestic spending and devolve some Federal Power to the States, Localities, and Individuals. Tax cuts are fine and dandy, but we on the Right expected more from a GOP President paired with a GOP Congress...why can't Dubyuh show the same zest in dealing with domestic issues as he does in dealing with Islamic zealots?!

The RightWing's geared up to support Dubyuh in droves if he presents a genuinely conservative agenda for his second term, imho.

FReegards...MUD

Unfortunately he is right. That's why we have to keep working.

I plan to vote for the most conservative candidate running. Whether that's George Bush is up to him.

Just don't forget the simple fact that we have a two-party system.

If by that you mean to claim that there will be only two candidates running, you are mistaken.

If they're really already not gonna vote for him, I think he'll have to win without the malcontents.

If Bush sticks to his message and runs a campaign as well as in 2000, I think he can. I just get a bit irked by malcontents. Sorry ...

No one is arguing that any of the current RAT candidates (nor any other RAT for that matter) would be better than George W. Bush in '04; nor that it would be a bad thing if the Congress had more Repubos in it after the '04 election; nor that the RAT Party self-destructs and is relegated to permanent minority status; nor that more Repubo governors are elected. I will always support the Pubos over the RATs.

But....if a Republican-controlled House and a Republican-controlled Senate and a Republican Executive cannot keep the Federal AW ban from sunsetting on time next September, and, indeed, even vote to not only renew but to strengthen the ban, I am going to have to seriously reconsider what to do about the almost certain long-term demise of the Constitutional Republic. Make no mistake, because, then the only difference between the two major parties will be the speed at which they are taking the Republic over the cliff to socialism. "As goes the 2nd, so goes the Republic." To me, the RKBA is a bellweather to the direction that the country is going - either freedom and libetry or socialism and slavery - it will be only a matter of time - and it won't matter one damn bit who is currently "in control."

The last time we had a balanced budget was under a RAT administration with a GOP Congress.

Can't argue any of that. But the reality is that he is the nominee. Why dwell on what is a fait accompli?

There are myriad ways to change that political score without worrying about the things we cannot change. It's a waste of time and counterproductive.

If we want more conservative policies, we need to apply ourselves to sending more conservatives to Congress and the statehouses.

The last time we had a balanced budget was under a RAT administration with a GOP Congress.

What that sentence ignores is the mountain of other things that were going on simultaneously. The degradation of our military. The foreign policy that gave encouragement to terrorists and despots. The selling of our military secrets to our enemies. The stacking of our courts with leftist activist judges. Etc., etc, etc...

Those Clinton eight years were fantastic weren't they? Just think of the 374 Judges that Clinton appointed which is 47.638% of the total Judicary. Yep another democratic administration will just about have it wrapped up and it won't matter one whip what the Executive and Legislature do.

I'll repeat it: We live in a two-party system. To ignore that fact is to do nothing but empower the Democrats.
