The Sierra Club and ELF consider forrest fires a part of the natural ecosystem. It's capitalist mankind that is evil and needs to be punished!

If your goal is to make it impossible for development to happen near forest areas, what better way to do it than to set a sufficient number of fires that fire-insurance becomes impossible to get. No insurance coverage = no mortgage issuance = no developer can get funding

They usually prefer attacking people or their possesions - but not against Nature since that is what they are allegedly trying to protect.

The biggest error of that thinking is that the bark beetle investation is destroying the forest....even if there never is a forest fire, the trees are dead, and more are dying in a expotential ratio. Where there were 1-2 dead trees 5 years ago, there is now an acre or more because of the prolific bark beetle.

Enviros got Clintoon and Babbitt to leave the dead trees alone. Loggers could salvage those trees if removed within 1 year--for lumber. After that, not any good. Clintoon and Babbitt refused, let the enviros have their way, and now we have the predictable results.

It gets even bettr---Gov Davis stood down ALL the Calif Dept of Forestry (CDF)attack airplanes which drop the borade. He said they needed winter maintenance. I don't know the total number of planes in the fleet, but if part of them are torn apart for maintenance and not able to fly, then IMO, someone should sue Davis for criminal neglect. Davis is a total jerk. He is literally leaving Calif with scorched earth.
The media either doesn't know about this or they are protecting Davis right to the end.

In the early summer, Davis shut down all the forestry fire watch towers. Said we couldn't afford them. Some of the retirees and employees are manning them here in N Cal for no pay, because they are necessary.

I agree that it is likely ELF. To a group that destroys building projects and SUV dealerships to prove that mankind is harming the earth, deliberately setting fires to destroy the land for others and the property of others is not a big stretch.

I tend to agree -- look at all of the developments that have been destroyed. ELF's reasoning would be that there are always fires in that area, and the stuff will grow back.

I'm half wondering whether the fires in Oregon this summer (started when Bush was visiting the area) were also the work of ELF -- they were only an hour's drive from Eugene, after all....

Yeah, the BP apprehends over 125,000 annually in this sector (Cochise County, AZ), an 80 mile stretch of US/Mexico border. That's 300+ apprehensions per day 24/7. And they only catch 10% or less of the crossers.

The illegals camp overnight at the very least while awaiting transport, and everything they brought over with them is dropped at the pick-up point.

We had a Public Lands Cleanup Day two years ago along a 10-mile stretch of the San Pedro River...9 tons of trash and garbage were collected.

The campgrounds are a collection of food containers, water bottles, soiled clothing, toilet paper, used tampons, human waste, backpacks...you name it, it is probably sitting here fouling up two of Arizona's prettier National Forests/Monuments.

That's exactly the problem where I live. I have no fire insurance. Only a very few of my neighbors live close enough to a fire station on the highway to be able to afford the movie star rates for insurance.

I have no mortgage, but younger folks who would like to build can't. They can't afford the insurance, permits and bribes that have to be paid to live in the mountains.

We once had a thriving community of miners, loggers, ranchers and businesses that catered to people who came to the mountains to enjoy nature.

We have now become a ghost town. Prosperous happy families have been replaced with crankster gangsters from the city.

The beautiful forrest the Sierra Club claims to love has been turned into a dump.

All of this thanks to the Sierra Club and the corrupt politicians who accept money from that capitalist hating communist front!

That's exactly what's happening. The only new homes being built are in the million dollar plus category.

Working families have been given the boot so that wealthy enviro celebrities can have the great views for their own.
