No. It's Bush's fault. If he hadn't started war with Iraq the terrorists would never have set the fires. Don't you get it?

FINALLY, NBC Nightly News just said that 2 persons are being sought for starting the SB fire.
ABC said all the fires were caused by Mother Nature.

I wonder why the backpack was abandoned?

Terrorists don't terrorize if they don't announce their terrorism. Did they ever announce either attack on the WTC?

All the formerly good old outdoor organizations have been taken over by the extremists. The same is true up here in the NW with the Mountaineers. It's sad. They used to be such a good family organization. Not anymore.

Are they searching for two white men driving a white panel van with a ladder-rack?

I might think it's natural if I see some fires breaking out in Mexico and Canada ---- fires shouldn't know where the US border ends and begins.

Hillary/Clark in 04 I think you've got the ticket "bass ackwards..."
If Clark wants to live it would have to be this way ... otherwise he wouldn't last a month in the Office without us having a state funeral at some point and another Crintoon leading us to hell.

Of course they did. They announced it when they bombed the parking decks in 1993, put together the Bojinka plan in 1995, testified to such effect in courts in 1997/2000, and claimed credit after the fact in video releases in 2001/2002.

According to a state arson invetigator the vast majority of suspicious wildfires are set by a handful of "dedicated" arsonists. Many are known and are surveiled around the clock during the fire season.
Acccording to this same investigator once an wildland arson is "successful" the effect snowballs. The flames and the news alerts bring many "hobby" arsonists out of the wood work. The greater the confligrations the greater the number of "hobbists" in the field who look for a safe oppurtunity to start a small fire and pray for fame.
Along with these "hobby" arsonist come a collection of rather more common folks who will attempt to settle a grudge with someone or the other if there is enough confusion.
The results are a real circus if authorities aren't able to demonstrate control soon after the fire starts.

I might think it's natural if I see some fires breaking out in Mexico and Canada I believe it was Roger Hedgecock filling for Rush today who was making a similar point. He also said one reason you don't see fires like this in Mexico is because the locals comb the areas for firewood and remove a lot of the tinder. This was once allowed here but is no longer allowed (enviros don't want it done).
Then, there is the problem of enviros not allowing trees killed by pine beetles and disease from being removed; more dead tinder for the conflagration.
Lots of blame to go around for allowing the right conditions for this mess. A lot of it falls in the laps of enviros and their Green/Democrat allies at all government and regulatory levels.

Many in ELF believe that a catastrophic fire is "cleansing" and "natural" (the reality of what really happens afterward to the contrary). If it gets rid of people in the forest, not a few wouldn't hesitate.

Is this anywhere related to the terrorist info we had this morning? If so will the Dims be quiet and let the POTUS do his work? Being a bit naive, aren't we?
Let's say evidence does point to this possibly being a terrorist action. What will the Dems do?
Blame Bush, of course.
They will say the Homeland Security department is inept because terrorists were able to get into the country and start these fires.
They will say Bush is not leading.
They will say Bush cannot make the tough decisions because it took him days to declare the area a Federal Disaster.
They will say the administration is playing politics with this disaster by advocating once again the thinning of dead trees and brush in our forests.
One thing they will not do is shut up, or finally agree that terrorism is real and needs to be taken seriously for the sake of the country.

Now, is it ELF or AQ, or both?
All the same, in reality.

All of the major forest fires over the last 3 years were deliberately started, and all but one of them was by an environmentalist. Thanks for the ping.
It will be interesting to see if the investigation uncovers any connection.
