That's exactly the problem where I live. I have no fire insurance. Only a very few of my neighbors live close enough to a fire station on the highway to be able to afford the movie star rates for insurance. Thus only the ultra-wealthy can have homes in the hills, and have nice views uninterrupted by the homes of the peons (which is the real objective of many "environmentalists")

That's exactly what's happening. The only new homes being built are in the million dollar plus category.
Working families have been given the boot so that wealthy enviro celebrities can have the great views for their own.
