(Boy, I hope this works)
Dr. Scarpetta posted the list of sponsors for CBS's upcoming "Reagan Rip Job" movie to the PA board this morning. I've compiled a list of links to e mail the sponsors so we can let them know exactly what we think of them helping to spread slanderous lies about one of the finest Presidents we've ever had. If the links work like they should, you should go directly to a page to email them.
If anyone can find e mail addresses for the four that I couldn't, please post.
Thank you Dr. Scarpetta!!!

hear is a copy of the letter i sent to Anheuser-Busch .
thanks for this great thread!
This letter is in referance to the "soon to be aired" CBS movie "The Reagans". As a modern consumer, I have enjoyed many of the products marketed by Anheuser-Busch(imabudman) as well as your often humorous commercials. I am a veteran and a proud american. Having served in the military in the early 80's I hold a great respect, fondness and admiration for Pres. Ronald Reagan along with MILLIONS of americans. Without his strenght and leadership the collapse of communism and cold war victory would still be doubtful as well as the freedom enjoyed by millions in eastern europe and elsewhere. i am saddened and angered at the revision of history by those at CBS that wish to twist, slander and corrupt our collective memorys of this still great, yet now defenceless man to whom the entire world owes a debt of gratitude. I urge you to reconsider sponsering or advertising any of your products during this movie. Millions of Americans now look for you to show your true patriot colors and reject this attempt to deface the legacy of a true American hero. Many people, including myself, will begin a boycott of any product or company that wishes to promote themselves or their products during the airing of "The Reagans". This letter is sent in hopes that you will send a message to CBS that the "truth" is best in more than just advertising and withdraw your sponsership of this tragic work of fiction. thank you for your time.

I admit that I have copied a bit from some others, but that is only because what they wrote was good (please take it as a compliment). I am in the process of writing some of these advertisers, but haven't finished yet.
But I wanted to share my letter with everyone in hopes of inspiring even better.
Here it is:
Dear Sirs,
I have heard that Pontiac is sponsoring the CBS movie about Ronald Reagan. I have seen excerpts from the movie and I believe that it is shameless slander. Ronald Reagan was one of the greatest men of the last century. The show is full of misrepresentations, misquotes, and flat-out lies. CBS has made a conscious decision to conspire with the left wing fanatics of Hollywood in an endeavor to attack and rewrite history on one of the greatest presidents of our time, former President Reagan.
If your company is so willing to sponsor such untruthfulness, it makes one wonder how much dishonesty is occurring in your company. It is one thing to lie and make misrepresentations to stockholders, they are the owners of your company. After Enron, this is becoming a common occurrence. My primary concern, is how much you may be covering up from the consumers of your products (i.e., lack of quality, lack of safety, price gouging, etc.). In spite of what others have said in the recent past, character DOES count. And you are judged by the company that you keep (or sponsor). Is this really what Pontiac and their management stands for --- cheap, trashy lies!
If you cant trust the management of the company that makes a product that you are about to purchase, how can you put any reliance on the product itself. And, if you cant rely on the product, why buy it --- there is plenty of competing products.
If Pontiac sponsors the movie, I will NEVER purchase your product and I will encourage my friends, family, coworkers, acquaintances, and anyone that I happen to meet and converse with to do the same. American values were built on blood, sweat and sacrifice for the greater good. If Pontiac cant stand up for American values, then why should any American consumer bother to stand up for (and purchase from) Pontiac.
INTERPRETATION FOR MANAGEMENT: IT MEANS NO PURCHASING FROM PONTIAC --- NO MONEY FOR PONTIAC.
Thank you for your time.
Keep it up!!!!! Let's win one for the gipper!!!

Note the direct proof that this is a form letter and GM doesn't actually give a damn whether you were offended or not:
We deeply regret to hear that we have offended the television viewing audience who were watching the Reagan special on CBS.
The movie, of course, does not air until next month. Some drone just typed the phrase "Reagan special on CBS" into a box and shot the prefab email back out to you.
Also, this is a lie of omission:
The time slots which the advertisements are aired are booked months in advance.
This is true. What they're not telling you is that practically every advertiser - and certainly an advertiser the size of GM - has the ability to demand their ads be pulled from any show up until just a few minutes before the tape airs. If GM wanted to yank their sponsorship from this movie, they could do it with a single phone call.

Another suggestion by someone on this thread was to contact local CBS affiliates.

"Why does this thread only have 100-plus hits so far,"
A couple of suggestions:
Write your local Letters to the Editor, call your local CBS affiliate, start a thread on other forum websites.

Thanks -- we need a groundswell on this.
We were able to kill Osama bin Garafalo's TV sitcom -- we should be able to kil lthis thing before it airs!
I finally will have tim e to day to draft different versions of this letter and send it to the sponsors.

Another suggestion which I've also posted on a similar thread:
Let Drudge know that you'd like to see him continue to run the picture of James Brolin as Reagan and the accompanying stories for the next few weeks. Drudge gets a huge number of hits and people who are still unaware of what's going on might contact CBS to complain.

The source cited for the company list identifies the companies as CBS sponsors NOT necessarily Reagan biopic sponsors. I'm as outraged as anyone about this biopic, but Owl_Eagle needs to clarify whether the companies are indeed biopic sponsors; as his posting stands, it may well be irresponsible slander.

Uh-oh. I wish I had the answer to this question before I sent this:
When planning my trip to Philidelphia using my company's travel agency, I selected United Airlines, who is on the list of preferred providers. But when I learned you are a sponsor of Barbara Streisand's upcoming Reagan "docu-drama", I switched to American Airlines instead.
My company logs millions of air miles each year and I am sure that your status as a preferred provider rewards you with a high percentage of this travel. But I believe that once others in my company learn of you willingness to support anti-American propoganda, they will gladly switch their travel plans in favor of your rivals. I will lobby my company's supply chain managment department to have you removed as a preferred provider. I refuse to do business with anyone who supports this latest attempt by liberals in Hollywood to tarnish the image of one of our greatest Presidents and the image of patriots in general.
