Hi, friends. It's 9:50 p.m. Thursday night. The 24/7 Vigils since Tuesday have had at least several people for every hour since it began. I just came to report that much is going on behind the scenes and we have even more people at Hospice this evening. I hope everyone caught Hannity & Colmes. If not, please watch the replay later tonight if you can.

GOP and GWB Man has been here 24/7 and I've almost done the same. I met the lady from Not Dead Yet Organization and other folks who have flown in from other parts of the country to show support for Terri.

The message for tonight is KEEP CALLING GOVERNOR BUSH. That is the message I'm requesting until you hear otherwise from the front line at the Hospice Vigil. Oh, and keep praying. We are all sunburn and getting tired but we are standing with the Schindlers and they are feeling stronger because we are there for them around the clock.

Can't give any updates. If you've been watching tv or listening to the radio, you already realize that the media has woken up. THERE ARE SATELLITE TRUCKS, new people every day from all over the country, roses presented to us by a local florist, free food and beverages, the kindness of strangers is in abundance. I'll report back tomorrow. I'm going back to remain all night long. This is the biggest freep I've ever been to. The lawn in front of Hospice looks like your living rooms. We have moved in and are standing tall. God Bless America. God Bless Florida. FV

Summer, please tell everyone to have hope. We are attending the vigils everyday, even as Terri has missed three feedings. People should continue to call the Governor and their legislators which is in their phone books. Thank you so much, FV (back to the front lines).

P.S. There are also alternate freeps at the courthouse in Clearwater FL. People can get that address from phenn. Bye, back to Terri.

(SNIP) ‘Mr. Schindler said he was not worried about his daughter's dying just yet. The feeding tube was removed once before, for 60 hours, he said, and she suffered no consequences.

"If it was 10 minutes to 2 on Sunday afternoon," Mr. Schindler said, "I'd be very, very concerned. She's good for the next three to four days." ‘

floriduh's report that Terri has not had three feedings is cause for increased prayer ... that translates to 72 hours, 12 hours beyond the time the first tube was reinserted. Terri's Dad on Sean's radio program today was using 60 hours as a benchmark before the body begins to break down.

Heavenly Father, I pray that You will be the strength that Terri needs during these hours ... cause her to withstand physically the onslaught that has gripped her ... comfort her parents, for they have walked this way before, but are now beyond the original time ... they are into new territory ... keep them hopeful, even as we are hopeful ... may they be sustained by our continuing prayer on their behalf, and for their beloved daughter.

Send relief, I pray, dear Father ... bring this child back from the brink, for I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen ...

Without human medical intervention – the feeding tube - God would allow her to die.

Without food you would die as well. Terri can swallow and *HAS* already ate some pudding. She does not need the feeding tube to live, she probably never did.

Her "husband" wants her dead so she can't tell the world he tried to kill her.

Without your parents feeding you when you were a baby, you would have also died without intervention from God almighty.

There is a difference between guardianship and ownership. A person who is under guardianship still enjoys basic rights that are to be protected either by the state or the nation. In this case, the overriding law is a very basic one. It is the basic right to life, unable to be broken even because of physical disability.

The courts are completely disregarding Terri's basic protected right to life as stated unequivocally in the Florida Constitution, and are bestowing ownership to her husband. To be a guardian is to protect your charge, not be hell-bent on killing them. Ownership on the other hand denotes property that one can do with as they please.

Sorry folks, I'm not addressing any person in particular here. It's just late and we've been appalled at this injustice to one who is defenseless. There are rights and wrongs, and this is wrong.

The courts have decided, on hearsay of one side, that this woman is disabled and therefore may be put to death. This is not even the supreme court, and the hearsay is tainted by interests other than those of the victim. One irregularity would be distressing, two, a cause for alarm, but the sheer number of factors actively working against Terri is unfathomable; from judges, lawyers and media with right-to-die agendas to husbands with financial, adulterous and criminal interests, to ignorance of the masses...

This is no joking matter.

Good thing I'm not treating it as a joke then. The only jokes on this thread are the harpies who run around calling other posters nazis and child killers.

Go have your fun someplace else.

You first.

Well, I feel so drained, sad and angry but won't stop yet.

I just finished calling Jeb Bush's office again and told them that I had been a Florida vacationer since childhood but would never step foot in, or spend another penny on, that State unless Governor Bush acts immediately to save Terri's life.

I also called the White House to register my dismay at all of this.

I'm calling, faxing, praying....Never give up.

Governor Bush Has Legal Authority, But Lacks Political Will To Save Terri Schiavo's Life
Fri, Oct 17, 2003

http://www.thomasmore.org/news.html?NewsID=129&PHPSESSID=25894c499c2889854304fa7d56f23b7d

ANN ARBOR, MI - According to Richard Thompson, former prosecutor of Jack Kevorkian, Florida Governor Jeb Bush has the legal authority to act in the case of Terri Schiavo, but lacks the political will to do so. Responding to the Governor’s statements that he cannot intervene in the civil case, Thompson claimed Bush is confusing the public on what is being asked of him.
“Nobody is asking the Governor to intervene in the civil case. We are asking him to initiate an independent criminal investigation based on a list of facts that suggest criminal wrongdoing,” said Thompson. “We have outlined for the Governor some of these facts, and confirmed his Constitutional authority to act. The fact that he has chosen to confuse the public by referring to the civil case, completely ignoring the request that we presented, reveals a lack of moral courage and political will. We expect the Governor to do the right thing, and so far, he has refused to do so.”

“If Governor Bush does not act quickly, I expect Terri will be killed by an overdose of morphine. She is being starved and denied fluids, and the Governor needs to act now before it’s too late,” said Thompson.

Thompson, now president of the Thomas More Law Center, delivered two emergency letters to Bush Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, asking him to initiate a criminal investigation. The letters outlined the constitutional authority of the Governor to act in the case, including a factual basis for initiating a criminal investigation. Bush has maintained he has no authority to interfere in the civil case that led to the feeding tube being removed.

diamond, I started my day waking up in tears after a nightmare about being "slaves" to "superiors" who were starving "us" and limiting access to water. Then I read the first thread of the day about Terri, and promptly lost my breakfast. I'm starting to think that I should just walk away from this, but I don't think I can. It gets more disgusting by the minute.

Yes, I did... I've been after my local news stations also. Last night one of them had a neurologist on camera stating that this should not have been done to Terri. I think we need to let Jeb know that!!!!

Is it possible that there could be a conflict between what the outside legal team thinks is permissible, and what Jeb's own counsel believes is permissible?

I'm relating this to the notion that Jeb would have Governor's Counsel... like Bush has WH Counsel, correct?

I am wondering since the legal advise given to Jeb has stated that he not only has authority but an obligation to step in 'if' he could be charged with derelection of duty or something if he doesn't stop this??????

"from what I've read all 6 lawyer firms Gov Bush consulted have stated he not only can intervien, he should immediately intervien."

Correct.

The coward is dismissing the very advice he sought from the top legal minds in the land.

He doesn't deserve to be elected gnat catcher after this.

"I heard today Judge Greer is legally blind?"

Yup. He can't recognize the law when it's staring him in the face.

Legally blind and morally blind too.

Yes, yes, I know that's not what you meant, but the word play was too much to pass by.
