On Monday, Oct 13, at noon, family and friends of Terri Schindler-Schiavo will begin a round-the-clock vigil on at Woodside Hospice located at 6774 102nd Ave N, Pinellas Park (66th St N & 102nd Ave).

Terri is scheduled to have her feeding tube removed on Wednesday, Oct 15, at 2:00 pm. A policeman will be posted at Terri's door at the hospice in order to keep the parents out. Michael Schiavo, the husband, has ordered that the does not want family and friends near Terri.

Please join us at Woodside Hospice anytime - day or night - calling on Governor Jeb Bush to use his executive power to save Terri's life. Your presence will be welcomed for any length of time.

Terri is disabled, but she is not in a coma or in a persistant vegetative state. She is fully aware of her surroundings and responds to people around her. She laughs and smiles when her parents visit her. Last night, her parents told me that she says "yes", "no", "hello." This may not sound like much, but it shows that Terri is not in a coma as her husband claims. Terri also told her parents that she does not want to be starved to death.

Randall Terry of Operation Rescue will hold a press conference at noon on Monday, Oct 13th. He will also have a press conference on Tueday at noon and Wednesday at 2:00 pm. If you live in the Tampa Bay area, please join us for the vigil.

It is inconceivable that a judge has ordered the death of an innocent woman. We need to do everything in our power to help Terri.

What crime has this poor woman committed! Not only is she to be executed in a manner that would not be allowed for the worst crimminal child killer - i.e death by starvation and dehydration- because it would be called cruel and unusual punishment- But, she won't even be able to see her family, while she is dying.. She is to lay in her bed for days , alone, starving/dehydrating and dying!

I just finished reading the story about Terri wanting to live and trying to get out of the chair. Then I went on a rant through the house shouting the same things you just said. Can't anyone stop this? What is wrong with Jeb Bush, George Bush, and John Ashcroft. So many 'rules of law' have been broken in this case. Why won't they step in and arrest the REAL lawbreakers? This is evil. What is wrong with people who can't see this is WRONG?????????? To shut out her parents while she lies there helpless and alone, terrified, and suffering. This is MURDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and those three worry about 'the rule of law'!!!!!!!!

I guess the next step is to euthanize their victims with a needle 'so they don't suffer needlessly', and so that their ORGANS WILL BE MORE VALUABLE FOR TRANSPLANT.

**** 765.404 Persistent vegetative state.--For persons in a persistent vegetative state, as determined by the attending physician in accordance with currently accepted medical standards, who have no advance directive and for whom there is no evidence indicating what the person would have wanted under such conditions, and for whom, after a reasonably diligent inquiry, no family or friends are available or willing to serve as a proxy to make health care decisions for them, **life-prolonging procedures may be withheld or withdrawn under the following conditions:

(1) The person has a judicially appointed guardian representing his or her best interest with authority to consent to medical treatment; and

I think Judge Greer was extremely remiss in not treating Terri as a long-term care patient. To my mind, the state ombudsman should have stepped in.

The Florida Bar could investigate, as could the judicial branch if anything the judge did was illegal.

Many of us have questioned the release of Terri's funds to Felos but he must have the law behind him in doing it, or some governmental agency would be after him. I'd think ombudsman would have the authority.

thanks for that info. I've been checking her website, poking around there, but somehow have missed those pxrs. I also got a response also from Ohioan from Florida for others wondering the same thing:

  On the 1st monster Terri thread, this had been batted around. The cause at the time of her collapse was a heart attack, and that she had a potassium imbalance. They attributed the potassium inbalance to be from bulimia which they thought Terri had, since she had lost a significant amount of weight. That's why the jury only awarded her what they did, because they found that she was 70% responsible for her own collapse, and her doctor 30%.

Upon further investigation, however, a FReeper was able to find info that a potassium imbalance can be the fight or flight response to a struggle. One of the doctors who has examined Terri said that he has seen a neck as rigid as Terri's in only one other patient, a strangulation.

What we fear is that Michael may have tried to kill Terri, and in her struggle to fight him off, the potassium imbalance caused her to have a heart attack.

Here's the link for the monster thread, and it was probably somewhere between 3500 and 5000 that this was discussed, but I'm not sure exactly where. If I remember correctly, freeper syriacus found the struggle information I'm referring to, but it could also have been many others (dandelion, kimmie7, or many others). Hope this helps.
