I'm tending to think the Democrats have totally mastered the arts (there are various kinds) of ballot cheating...and persuading voters just isn't enough anymore. Very depressing for me. Thoughts?
One does not “master” a criminal act.
The old white Republican guy is ahead with 43% to 37%, with 15 other candidates siphoning off the rest. Gilbert Garcia and Jack Christie both have about 10,500 votes each (7%), so the race is going to a run-off.
The question now is can Sheila Jackson Lee crank up the Democrat machine in Houston to overcome a 6% deficit by scooping up all the other votes?
Even if she gets the "Garcia" vote and John Whitmire gets the "Christie" vote, she is still behind by 6%.
They will have to find new votes in the December runoff, that is, people who didn't vote in this election who will be dragged out for Her Majesty in the runoff election.

I tend to agree with you. The combination of gathering low-propensity (thank you post #14) voters and maybe not even giving them money any more, but convincing them that “...there is this much easier way of voting, just fill out this ballot and I will return it for you”.
And on the backside they build up this campaign that you are the offspring of Satan if you even suggest the idea that there is or could be any fraud, and if there is, it’s all on the GOP side.
Yep. Pretty hard to counter the Google/YouTube/Instagram machine. Stalin had fewer lieutenants at his disposal.
That plus getting control of the Sec of States in key states and more importantly getting their hack judges in key voting districts that will rule for them on election night ( such as not extending voting hours in Rep areas after machine failures, and extending voting in Dem areas because the lines were long.)
so that means we don’t need to vote anymore ...
MAGA needs to find out HOW they do it.
Every election that took place today needs to be investigated.
The Dems having such good results, right when they need them, is suspicious.
That would be me.
The RNC does not want to win with Trump.

Why so bellicose?
I think constant whining about voter fraud is the lament of the loser who has run out of ideas.
They are called insulated urban citadels of fraud.
I think the Democrats won in 2020 through ballot harvesting, and through better and smarter campaign spending. I think that’s also what got Beshear across the finish line tonight (along with the power of incumbency). None of this is anything the Republicans can’t fight back against - whether the RNC will ever become smart enough to do it is an open question.
our side mostly plays with itself, and counts the donor cash.
I think 2022 made this clear. every reason to expect ruling party to get drubbed, but they didn’t, except in florida, where they got very badly beaten (gop even won dade county for gov).
2020 was sloppy, forcing late-night ‘vote-count-stops’ etc. that won’t happen again.
It’s only depressing if you pretend there is no great awakening of the American people.
But for that you have to pretend real hard.
if it wasn’t clear from the above, I believe Florida in 2022 represents actual voting trends nationwide before chicanery.
she will never help conservatives.
But when you whine about that, you deprive yourself of reality.
The vast majority of Americans now see through the media’s low IQ cry of “voter fraud doesn’t exist.”
