Yes, you read that correctly.

Democrat candidate for President Jim Webb has endorsed Donald Trump for President, not Hillary.

Jim Webb is never going to vote for Cruz. In fact Cruz will get zero cross over votes. That is why Cruz is closer to Goldwater than Reagan.

That makes a lot of sense for Trump and I think I could live with that. It would really squeeze Hillary, make her shift very left.

It makes sense for him.
Hillary isn't good for anyone,
and Bernie wouldn't be his cup of tea...

I'm not cheering though, because really there was nothing else he could do.

I never mentioned Cruz.

I just simply said the article and video don’t match the title. He seems rather vague in that interview on who he’ll vote for but nothing on any endorsements

I always liked Webb and it was clear the dims were NOT going to have anything to do with a real American patriot

Webb is an enigma to me ... I guess I’d have to put him on my list of people with whom I’d like to have a beer.

Ironically Hillary also wants Trump to be the GOP nominee.

There is not a lot, if any, difference between the GOPe leaders endorsing Cruz and many democrats.

“religious right-wing of the country”
Not so much in the South, they had him pegged.
Not so many anywhere right now, I’m betting.

Well I thought that at first, then re read it, don’t think so, I think he really is endorsing Trump, which would be good, he was a Marine and is strong Military...could help Trump a lot in that area...

By the way, that post wasn’t to you...FRiend...

We are only going by what is in the lead of the article in reference to the endorsement part.

Assuming your post is not satire this shows the broad reach that the Trump campaign has. This will be needed to defeat Hillary in the general election. Same type coalition that Reagan had. Ted Cruz’s support is narrow and that is why his chances to beat Hillary are small.

So why is it is positive when they support Trump but a negative when they support Cruz?

I think it is good for Trump to get crossover votes from the more sane democrats. He will need that in the general. The support of the GOPe for their fellow insider Cruz and opposition to the only outsider in the race is not much of a surprise to me.

Or liberals support him because he is still liberal. Somethings the simplest answer is the correct one.

Perhaps the democrats who supported Reagan were liberal too? Who cares as long as they want to see America do well.
