In what seemed like a political nanosecond, the Republican National Committee (RNC) released a statement on Saturday condemning Donald Trumps callous assertion that day that Sen. John McCain is not a war hero.
Senator McCain is an American hero because he served his country and sacrificed more than most can imagine. Period. There is no place in our party or our country for comments that disparage those who have served honorably.
The RNC is 100 percent correct. McCain is a hero. His sacrifice and service to this country when so many like Trump looked for ways to avoid the Vietnam War is to honored. As I wrote in my previous post, anyone who aspires to be commander in chief of the armed forces ought to know better than to disparage the service of anyone who has ever donned the uniform. And the Republican Party is absolutely right to say there is no place in our party or our country for such comments....

Gotta wonder when you see the source for these “Thump Trump” articles. He must be scaring the daylights outa them.
John McCain is a hot headed incompetent elitist SOB. He’s a far worse angry nut case than Donald Trump.
And don’t tell me that these liberals who spat on and betrayed our soldiers give a damn about John McCain war hero.
The RNC can eat s**t and die for issuing a statement that said there is no place “in our country” for Donald Trump.
But there is a place for 30 million illegal aliens???
How dare they say that about the leading candidate because he “insulted” McCain, who called Americans “crazies”.
This all needs to change the republican party needs to be politically razed to the ground. I’m sorry but it’s true.
I’ll be damned if I am going to worry about an elitist who married into the Budweiser fortune, or about citizens of another country who are here leeching off our wealth. To Hell with them.
“And dont tell me that these liberals who spat on and betrayed our soldiers give a damn about John McCain war hero.”
OUTSTANDING! That should be a Public Service Announcement!
I notice that those who claim McCain is a hero, never give specifics as to why. Except that he was a prisoner, as if nobody else ever was.
I also notice that those who say he is not a hero, give specifics as to why. Details of when he was in captivity as well as while on active duty.
Also examine the character of those trying to defend McCain vs. the character of those who know different.
Draw you own conclusions.
McCain might have been a hero right after Vietnam, but his actions since have erased that slate as far as that getting him any good will from me.
Along with Audie Murphy we can start to characterize what the word Hero might mean.
I understand John M had 40 combat air-hours over North Vietnam. That is commendable. His perseverance in the Hanoi Hilton is remarkable. What did he do that was close to what Sgt York and Audie Murphy did?
If Trump destroys the GOP as it is currently configured
I would like to thank him personally.
As for Audie Murphy, I SIGH at the mention of his name.
Because of his time making movies.
A fav with me, right after Gregory Peck - - -
“Sergeant Alvin York

I agree. John McCain is a war hero in the same sense that all those who step up to defend their country are heroes, but perhaps a little less. His claim to heroic fame is not because of anything he did, but due to his descent from a military family of distinction, plus a lot of bought and paid political clout and publicity. What he and Scary Kerry did to the POW/MIAs was certainly not heroic, but was effectively kept away from the mainstream public view, and by now few even know it happened.
I doubt there will ever again be another hero like Audie Murphy or Sgt. York. Not that they don’t exist or that heroic things don’t happen, but the feats of true heroes will be hidden, scrubbed and edited to the point where no one will ever know. The present political climate, media bias and public complacency do not allow for heroes. For the average member of the general public it is far more important to keep up with the Kardashians.
McCain flew 20 combat hours and got 28 medals. I think it was a total of 23 missions.
John McCain (and Lindsay Graham) bent over backward to get arms for the muslim terrorists who subsequently formed ISIS, and have been slaughtering people across Syria and Iraq with reckless abandon for the past couple of years.
McCain should be hanged as a traitor to humanity, and, just as with Benedict Arnold, whatever honorable accomplishments he might have once had should be forever forgotten.
