Is a pro-Romney ad racist? Five questions to ask yourself [Groan!]
The Christian Science Monitor ^ | July 23, 2012 | Charlton McIlwain and Stephen M. Caliendo

In the presidential election, it’s not a matter of whether racism will appear in campaign messaging, but when. President Obama is running for reelection with the support of the majority of black and Latino voters. Mitt Romney is challenging Mr. Obama with an almost exclusively white constituency behind him. Both candidates will raise and spend unprecedented amounts of money on political advertisements, as will their respective parties and allied super PACs.

A crucial question is: How will we know when pro-Romney ads are potentially racist? It’s not always so easy to recognize.

Reasonable people will disagree about whether an ad appeals to race in an innocuous or outright racist way. This is why we developed the Index of Racist Potential. It is based on the content of more than 1,000 political advertisements we analyzed that were sponsored by candidates in federal election contests from 1972 through 2006 and that included at least one candidate of color (black or Latino). The index measures the degree that a given ad has the potential to evoke – consciously or unconsciously – voters’ stereotypical attitudes about people of color, regardless of the intent of the candidate or campaign team.

From the ads we analyzed, we found that black candidates certainly “use” race (directly or indirectly) in their ads, but they don’t reinforce widely held negative racial stereotypes about whites or flame fear of minorities. In other words, “race” may be present in the ad, but that presence isn’t “racist.”

Our index is based on the presence or absence of fairly objective content that appears in an ad...

Which is exactly why Barack Hussein Obama beat out Hillary Rodham-Clinton to become the Democratic Party nominee in 2008. So they could play the race card, over-and-over again, when they got into a jam, like they are now. And it's no wonder that the Christian Science Monitor is no longer a real newspaper but only published on-line.

"In the presidential election, it’s not a matter of whether racism will appear in campaign messaging, but when."

If Romney were smart, he would slam Obama for HIS racist connections. A big "if", however.

HANNITY: But I'm a — reverend

And we are not concerned about how to figure out if a pro-Obama ad is racist because?

"The Justice Department originally brought the case against four armed men who witnesses say derided voters with catcalls of "white devil" and "cracker" and told voters they should prepare to be "ruled by the black man." ..."

One poll watcher called police after he reportedly saw one of the men brandishing a nightstick to threaten voters.

As I walked up, they closed ranks, next to each other,” the witness told Fox News at the time. “So I walked directly in between them, went inside and found the poll watchers. They said they’d been here for about an hour. And they told us not to come outside because a black man is going to win this election no matter what.”

He said the man with a nightstick told him, “’We’re tired of white supremacy,’ and he starts tapping the nightstick in his hand. At which point I said, ‘OK, we’re not going to get in a fistfight right here,’ and I called the police.”...”

The fact the majority of black & Hispanics who have a multitude of race based politcal organizations support Obama is lost on CSM.

Man, that is an eye-opening article, though not in the way the authors intended. Or, maybe they did - it almost reads like a parody.

For example, they say negative ads by black candidates about white opponents "don’t reinforce widely held negative racial stereotypes about whites" so they are OK.

But a Romney ad where he points out that Obama is dishonest is racist, because black people in general are dishonest.

So, in conclusion, the authors believe it is racist to suggest that Obama is untrustworthy, prone toward criminality, takes advantage of the system or is lazy because black people in the aggregate behave that way. But you can call Romney those things because white people aren't like that.

It's parody isn't it?

Want to talk about racissm???

In a sane world, having the following comments out in print via Obama’s racist books would have knocked him out of the running for president of the United States. (they would have crucified a white candidate for far less)

From Dreams from My Father, “ I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER’S RACE”. Barack Hussein Obama

From ‘Dreams from my Father’, “The emotion between the races could never be pure, even love was tarnished by the desire to find in the other some element that was missing in ourselves. Whether we sought out our demons or salvation, THE OTHER RACE (WHITE) WOULD ALWAYS REMAIN JUST THAT: MENACING, ALIEN, AND APART.” Barack Hussein Obama

From Dreams from My Father: “THAT HATE HADN’T GONE” he wrote, BLAMING “WHITE PEOPLE — some CRUEL, some IGNORANT, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives.” Barack Hussein Obama

From ‘Dreams from My Father’, “There were enough of us on campus to constitute a tribe, and when it came to hanging out many of us chose to function like a tribe, staying close together, traveling in packs,” he wrote. “It remained necessary to prove which side you were on,to show your LOYALTY TO THE BLACK MASSES, TO STRIKE OUT and name names” Barack Hussein Obama

From ‘Dreams from My Father’, ‘I VOWED THAT I WOULD NEVER EMULATE WHITE MEN whose fates didn’t speak to my own. IT WAS INTO MY FATHER’S IMAGE, THE BLACK MAN, SON OF AFRICA, THAT I’D PACKED ALL THE ATTRIBUTES I SOUGHT IN MYSELF, THE ATTRIBUTES OF MARTIN AND MALCOLM, DUBOIS AND MANDELA’ Barack Hussein Obama

From The Audicity of Hope: To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists.”

From The Audicity of Hope: After graduating from college, Obama eventually went to Chicago to interview for a job as a community organizer. His racial attitudes came into play as he sized up the man who would become his boss: “There was something about him that made me wary,” Obama wrote. “A little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.”

From The Audacity of Hope:..’the white race...“that ghostly figure that haunted black dreams.”

From “Dreams”: (after making his first visit to Kenya, he wrote of being disappointed to learn that his paternal grandfather had been a servant to rich whites. that the revelation caused)“ugly words to flash across my mind. Uncle Tom. Collaborator. House n-——”.

From The Audacity of Hope: “We are no longer just a Christian nation,” he argues in “Audacity,” which was published last year. “We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.”

“To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists.”

From ‘Audacity’: “Her memories of the Christians who populated her youth were not fond ones,” Obama wrote. “For my mother, organized religion too often dressed up closed-mindedness in the garb of piety, cruelty and oppression in the cloak of righteousness.”

“Malcolm X’s autobiography seemed to offer something different,” Obama wrote. “His repeated acts of self-creation spoke to me; the blunt poetry of his words, his unadorned insistence on respect, promised a new and uncompromising order, martial in its discipline, forged through sheer force

Then there is his love of Islam:

Quote from Barack Obama’s book, Dreams Of My Father:

“THE PERSON WHO MADE ME PROUDEST OF ALL, THOUGH, WAS MY [half brother], ROY..HE CONVERTED TO ISLAM”.

From ‘Dreams of my Father’, “IN INDONESIA, I SPEND TWO YEARS AT A MUSLIM SCHOOL” “..I STUDIED THE KORAN..”

From ‘Audacity of Hope: “LOLO (Obama’s step father) FOLLOWED ISLAM....”I LOOKED TO LOLO FOR GUIDANCE”.

From ‘The Audacity Of Hope, “I WILL STAND WITH THEM (MUSLIMS) SHOULD THE POLITICAL WINDS OF WAR SHIFT IN AN UGLY DIRECTION..” .

From The Audacity Of Hope, “WE ARE NO LONGER JUST A CHRISTIAN NATION, we are also a Jewish nation, a MUSLIM NATION, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.”

So, even if the ‘stereotype’ is true is a particular case, we can’t mention it?

I’ve got a better idea. people that are stereotyped should work as a group to change the perception that they make in the larger world. Or ignore it.

Somebody needs to have guts enough to confront Obama and the Rats about his racist books (above post) and really expose him to the American public.

.
Here’s the best place to start:
The best Obama exposure site on the net
(Not a hate site. Documented FACTS)

The Obama File

The United States Library of Congress has selected

The African-Americans who appeared in that add are either crazy, or heroically courageous. They sound like intelligent, prominent members of the community, and to endorse Romney like this, so publicly, cannot sit well with the majority.

With the way the MSM and the Left is whipping up racial fervor this election cycle, these people could be in some danger to their reputation, business, and even their life.

Following the logic of this article, one couldn’t fire a drunk if he’s Irish, arrest a gangster if he’s Italian or give a traffic ticket to a reckless driver if he’s Chinese. Got it.

But it’s perfectly OK for Obama campaign surrogates to call Romney a felon, because he’s white - even though he’s never been arrested, charged, or convicted of a crime. See how this works?
