AMERICA-The Right Way Day 782 [Remember the Trade Center, the Pentagon and Flight 93

A letter to President Bush from Women for a Free Iraq:

February 27, 2003

Dear President Bush:

As women from Iraq who fled our homeland to escape persecution by Saddam Hussein’s regime, we write to offer our support for your principled leadership. We applaud your determination to disarm Saddam and your commitment to help liberate the people of Iraq. We are daughters, mothers, wives, and sisters whose families and communities have suffered for too long. We stand with you because only the United States and its allies can help the people of Iraq break free from Saddam’s 34 years of brutal rule.

Those who have taken to the streets with signs reading, “No War on Iraq” are misled. It is Saddam who has been waging war on the people of Iraq. Every day that this war continues, more of our brothers and sisters will suffer from Saddam’s totalitarian and racist policies.

A GOOD A.M. TO ONE AND ALL FROM THE WET MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, USA!!!!

Had a choice, watch umteen million rerun of the news last night or watch CNNfn. Watched the cnn. They said that Germany has the lowest in their stock market since the 30's.
Wonder what France is.

They ALL bashed OUR President W, one El Nuto said that 'Bush will back down'. He must have been from outer space. The USA is blamed for the stock markets world wide, blamed us for the killings in Africa, that we are overpowering (right on this one, just watch and see) that we were FORCING the countries to vote with us, wasn't barf time, it was puke time. He said that only the small EU countries were with the the US (1o out of the 13 ain't bad), that we have promised everything to them BUT the ones who go against us? Hard times coming for them. Mexico is showing courage they said. courage? To me they are showing their dumb arse.

I will be back in a few, got to go to d house, she called and needs me to do something for her. See ya.

What a terribly sad story I come hear when I get to work this morning.

There is a gal who works with us, who recently (about 2 months ago) lost her Mom after her Mom was fighting an illness for over 5 years.

Just found out this morning that this gals' Dad passed away 2 days ago from a stroke. He quite healthy and we are sure the agony and heartbreak of losing his wife, to whom he was just SOOOOO devoted, no doubt caused the stroke.

Very sad.

The realtor we had when we bought this house was a woman my husband had known for years.......they used to work together at a restaurant..........she was prolly in her late 60's or early 70's......

Anyway, her husband passed away, and 2 months later she followed him........After he died she was never the same person.......could not deal with him being gone; they had been childhood sweethearts......

Morning Lysie!

50's forecasted here in Wisconsin for the weekend.

It makes us all smile around in this part of the Country.

Here's a stunner...

Jut received my latest issue of Sport's Illustrated. In the cover story it features the rise and fall of Kirby Puckett, of the baseball's Minnesota Twins.

After we find out about how he had affairs outside his marriage, which according to author Frank Deford, happens all the time to these pampered atheletes, Puckett, over the course of years, chokes his wife, puts a gun to her head, and cuts down the bathroom door with a power saw, after she locks herself into the room.

But if that's not bad enough, Deford goes onto to make this statement:

Even with war hanging over us, warriors, our most traditional heroes, are not so romantic anymore, not in an armed force of gas masks, and smart bombs. Ah, but the athletes: they who, as of yore, simply achieve physically, naturally (is there any sweeter phrase than natural athlete?), as human beings, flesh and blood.

Now... imagine your a member of the armed forces, sitting in the sands of Afghanistan, or Kuwait, waiting to put your life on the line to defend freedom and honor, read this sort of drivel in S.I.?

I think Frank Deford needs to take a reality check.

Give me an armed forces member, putting his/her life on the line to defend freedom, any day of the week.

Amazing!

Good grief..............even the most rabid cheesehead knows that the REAL heroes are the men in uniform.........and I'm not talking about the green & gold uniform!!!

Don't know whether you heard but my youngest will be enlisting on 3/24 in the National Guard.

Early this morning the mockingbirds were singing right out my window. I looked out to see if it was getting light yet cause it is a bad sign if one sings in your yard at night. Honest. That is true. I have gone out and thrown sticks at them for singing in my yard at night. Honest. er, Honest. Cross my heart and hope to die.

:^)

S & E........."Solo And Ensemble".........It's a music competition (or "festival") that's held all over the state of Wisconsin at just about every public & parochial high school during the month of March.

Students prepare and perform a solo and/or ensemble piece(s) of music in front of a judge and are rated........those who perform pieces from the most difficult category and receive the highest marks then get to go to "state" on the first Saturday in May.

It is actually the largest student participation event in the entire country. My job is accompanying the student soloists on the piano; I am working this year with three different schools.

I was just kidding you, I admire you and your family for the musical talents you have. My wife (in the 50's) was in the Lions All state band and was very proud of it.
