French film company Pathe is conducting an experiment to see if hypnosis can be used to make people forget a movie they've seen so that they can get the experience of watching it again for the first time.
The peculiar stunt, known as Pathe Rewind, will elicit the services of hypnotist Victor Kraemer. The films that will be shown as part of the experiment are The Matrix, Se7en, La La Land and Interstellar.
Pathe has emphasized that there is no guarantee that the hypnosis will actually work and even notes that it "accepts no liability for the outcome, the effect, or any other consequences of the hypnosis sessions."
Even if some of them do forget the movies, though, it seems very unlikely that hypnosis could ever be used as a reliable method to achieve this type of selective amnesia en masse.

La La Land?
They should focus on most of the films in the Star Wars franchise.
These are not the films you’re looking for
Yeah that would be a plus but I wonder if this would work for bad dates, relationships and marriages? Not to repeat but get the nightmares out of ones head.
*mic drop*
Cohaagen!
Forgot that one after 10min.
I want that 10min of life back.
I'm not sure the headline writer understands the meaning of "classic"
[[to see if hypnosis can be used to make people forget a movie they’ve seen]]
They dont have to use hypnosis on me- a week or so later and ive forgotten most of the movie i watched- it’s like watching a new movie each time i see it lol (Im not quite that bad, pretty bad- mind isnt active enoughj i guess)
...and he loved Big Brother...
Seems like Groundhog Day would be a good one for this experiment.
This would be good for films that lose “re-watchability” because the twists are revealed at the end. “Seven” was a good choice. I’d add “The Sixth Sense” and “The Usual Suspects”.
Just wait a few years and you get that feature for free.
they used to do that to make you buy hot dogs during intermission at the drive-in ...
THC gummies make me forget the last scene of a show and the characters in it, and then the episode once it’s over. Scene changes seem like a whole new show most times. Never mind following a recipe or realizing that I don’t know why I’m going somewhere or where that is even though I do remember that I couldn’t remember… Yeah, that’s why I don’t do gummies.
That kind of feedback loop could end the universe.
Just give everybody Alzheimer’s.
