JUST IN: Woke Nike to Be Removed From S&P 100 After Hitting 12-Year Low Stock Price
Gateway Pundit ^ | 9/5/2026 | Jordan Conradson

Nike is set to be removed from the S&P 100, a subset of the S&P 500 that tracks 100 major blue-chip companies across multiple industry groups, later this month.

This comes after the company lost nearly 80% of its value since 2021.

As The Gateway Pundit reported last month, the woke brand’s stock price plunged to a 12-year low after spending the last decade championing left-wing social justice causes.

As of Saturday, the company has a market cap of roughly $57 billion, losing more than $200 billion in value since its all-time high in November 2021.

The stock is down roughly 40% year-to-date, trading at $38.41.

Now, they're set to be axed from the S&P 100 before the markets open on September 21, 2026, according to S&P Dow Jones Indices.

More from the New York Post: Federal Realty, which operates the center, told the Silicon Valley Business Journal that the departure was “not a decision specific to this market or property” — and part of a broader shift, as the company tries to find the way forward.

The downsizing comes as Nike announced major global operations changes in April of this year — laying off approximately 1,400 employees working in global operations, mostly in the technology sector.

The changes were designed to optimize the company’s supply chain footprint and modernize their use of technology to create “a more responsive, resilient, responsible, and efficient company,” according to Nike.

The iconic brand has been in a sales slump, with both footwear and equipment showing negative growth, revenue from Nike stores down 7%, and Converse revenue down 32%. Nike Direct revenue fell 9%, while Nike Digital was fell by 12%.

Nice, T.B. Yoits.

The small pics tell the full story of putting all their money on "woke" athletes — and now paying the price.

Here in Japan, there are local brands like athletic brands that have elipsed Nike, not to mention Major League ball caps from the Dodgers and Yankees that are highly popular for women to wear.

Nike is crap. Much better shoes out there for FAR less!

Yes, I wore Nike Cortez decades ago.

I had Nike running shoes and running garb for DECADES. Then they spit on Betsy Ross. I threw my Nike gear away and never looked back.

New Balance made wide width sneakers in the US in the beginning. Keene, New Hampshire if I remember correctly. Their court shoes were excellent during the 70s.

Wow, well Nike did it to it itself hiring that idiot Colin Kapernick as its representative. That was when I decided Nike was hateful.

A pair of Solomons for trails. A pair of Brooks for running. Otherwise it’s grown man footwear all the time.

Nike - the Bud Lite of sneakers....and the K-Mart of businesses.
Good riddance.

Just very recently, I watched a video taken in a remote Siberian village. The local man on camera was describing the lack of gasoline and other problems that are the direct result of the Ukrainian drone assaults all across Russia.

He was wearing his Sunday best to be on TV. He was wearing a black long sleeve pull over sweater that featured a Nike logo. Was it real or was it knockoff?

Either way, it illustrated the permeation of the American cultural icon to the remotest villages of Siberia

They deserve it for elevating Colin Kaepernick as if he were some kind hero.

My entire family has been boycotting Nike products since then.

We were forced to wear Nike shoes when playing basketball for my university.

I always hated their shoes. Poor designs and poor construction.

I think they fired everyone and are rebooting.

Jaguar has always been the king of the saloon. Beautiful, way overpowered, nice riding car. A luxury car with a nasty snarl. Completely impractical and wonderful for it. After BMW bought them (and fired Lucus electric) mechanical quality went way up.

Not my thing, but damn what fine looking vehicles.

Abandonment of their niche was the dumbest thing in the world.

Hopefully they go belly up—reduce their carbon footprint to zero and help save the planet.

Forward comrades!

Lol.

I wasn’t sure why they mentioned Converse in the article and then I found out Nike purchased the brand in 2003. Bummer. I am descended from the Converse family from colonial Mass. We used to buy our sneakers from the factory store in Malden. I just bought a pair of Converse sneakers not realizing the connection.
