Britain’s new farming minister fainted at the sight of meat as he toured a food processing plant, a report claims, as the country’s new left-wing Prime Minister tries to win over farmers the previous government relentlessly attacked.
Stephen Morgan, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs — otherwise known as the ‘farming minister’ — a junior minister in the new Andy Burnham government is reported to have taken a queer turn when touring agricultural sites to help him familiarise himself with his new job. Britain’s best-selling newspaper The Sun cites a farmer familiar with the incident, and who said Morgan was being shown around a meat processing plant to learn how food is made, and was taken ill when shown a storage room.
The refrigerated room was said to be filled with “shelves of meat from slaughtered cattle” at a food processing plant in the Lake District, a National Park in north-west England’s Cumbria, and he allegedly fainted “at the sight of meat”.
The unnamed farmer told the paper: “He’d been shown large chunks of beef as well as some steaks but then he felt faint. He said something like, ‘I don’t feel too well — I need a moment’… It’s not a great look for the farming minister to faint at the sight of meat.”

I WORKED AT OSCAR MAYER AT ABOUT AGE 19-—IN ACCOUNTING-—IN THE STOCK YARD PENS. FARMERS WOULD BRING IN THEIR OWN ANIMALS, THEY WERE GRADED/WEIGHT & WE WROTE THE PAYMENTS.
THE SLOGAN THEN WAS:
“WE USE EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE SQUEAL”
THEY ARE TOTALLY CORRECT....
He will drink all your beer.
Always take TWO Baptists fishing.
They won’t touch your beer..................
😂 Duly noted!
Makes you wonder how in hell they ever had a world-wide empire....................
England has taken a queer turn.
He'd probably faint at the sight of the steak dinner as well - some of the more fanatical vegan types tend to get hysterical as the sight of anyone eating meat.
You know I read widly popular and classic Brit lit and watch Brit shows esp from 70s 80s 90s 00s
As I watch these shows and read the lit one can see how their thinking evolved through the two major wars, and the ending of the empire to the messes they are now.
Post war nice-ism, enormous reticence. ReWatched my favorite series …. the Morse, Lewis, Endeavor Trilogy recently and watched it with a special emphasis on the sociopolitical focus of the shows. Wow. The words out their mouths, especially in the latter series, it what has killed the entire island.
as I said on another thread:
Was watching DARKEST HOUR last evening about Churchill and the beginning of wwii.
All I could do is shake my head and think about to what end?
.................
The country lost too many men to ever come back whole. and now it is dying.
Churchill had blind spots...this was a big one.
Hitler cried when he visited a slaughterhouse, according to William Shirer in The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.

But in classic leftist fashion, he was cool with the methodical butchering of humans - on an industrial scale.
That is so true. A bunch of frat boys ran a consortium of retail stores with no apparent real-life similarity, and three of them from that portfolio that I know of recently went out of business: RiteAid pharmacies, PartyCity party supplies, and JoAnn Fabrics. Of the three, there is no substitute for JoAnn's full line of goods, and it may be the same for PartyCity. At least not in our large metro region.
My wife is very upset about JoAnn Fabrics. A huge loss, with nothing like a replacement in sight.
I hear her. My condolences!
JoAnn's also functioned as an informal women's club. You always met other interesting ladies who sew or made crafts. There were several male tailors who frequented our local, and lots of ethnic women needing various types of goods for their special holidays. I drive long distances to see family. I always knew where the JoAnn's were along the routs if I needed a safe place for a woman traveling alone to take a short break and just pick up that spool of thread, special button or great remnant you are too busy to make a special trip for at home. Well, that's over.
These "holding companies" treat drugstores, restaurants and specialty retailers with a "one size fits all" management strategy. For speciality stores, that's the kiss of death.
If that meat had been hanging from a 25 year old stud, he would have been face down on that thing. Fainted indeed. How childish.
The UK has fallen......,...
