"The conservatives on here denying the affordability crisis are engaged in what I can only describe as an act of political suicide. They're also lying, which is the worst part. Grocery prices are up. Housing. Energy. Insurance. Health care. Basic living expenses. It's real. It's happening. Denying it just makes you look out of touch, deceitful, and untrustworthy. It's also a completely unnecessary and unforced error. No credible person is claiming that Trump caused these price surges. You don't have to disgrace yourself by denying the reality in front of your face just to prove your loyalty to Trump. The causes for the most part are multi faceted, complicated, and longstanding. That's true. So let's discuss them. Debating whether the problem exists at all -- or, if it does exist, whether it counts as a problem -- is a total waste of time, and makes you look like a shill and a fraud."

Step 1: say this only occured under Biden.
Step 2: say its impossible what was occuring under Biden is now occuring under Trump.
Step 3: deflect from or ignore the aforementioned being not as bad under Trump as it was under Biden. [and while it’s not as bad now under Trump as it was under Biden it’s still very bad now].
Step 4: one side will regress into TDS (Trump Devotion Syndrome) with the other regressing into TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome).
Matt Walsh has not established his reliability.
It’s called inflation. It happens. Stop slacking and put your nose to the grindstone.
The rise in grocery prices under Biden were so extreme...about 12%....that the Federal Government gave SNAP a raise across the board.
I have started calling it Trump Divinity syndrome, AKA TDS type 2.
But you are correct.
The endless expedition to the sandbox that Trump started is the direct cause of most of the price increases this year.
Trump didn't help by going to war with Iran.
Trump is supposed to be MAGA.
No more foreign wars.
> It’s called inflation. It happens. <
Right. The problem is most Americans will always blame the party in power. That’s particularly true when it comes to gas prices.
I suppose that’s because gas prices stare you in the face every time you pass a station. No one notices a dime decrease. Everyone goes crazy over a dime increase.
No one had ever accused American voters of being too patient or too thoughtful.
The DemonRATS have brought in at least 50 million, freeloading, “I want a better life” types who are living off of the American taxpayers. Americans that they despise. They buy our gasoline, they buy our groceries, they demand our housing and demand free medical care, they put their bambeanies in our schools that WE PAY FOR, they take our America jobs, they SNAP UP our taxpayer food, and snap up our welfare money. No, you can’t blame all this booschidt on Trump. Under Pedo Joe Biden, we took on over 20 million freeloading wards of the U.S. Government alone. Trump didn’t invite them in. Don’t blame Trump.
What occurred under Biden was worse, $7.50/gallon for gas, empty shelves in grocery stores, toilet paper scarce, housing horrible shape, insurance just up up and away.
So, when haven’t things cost more than they did before?
There is a beautiful chart that shows inflation under Biden and inflation under Trump. We are talking about about 2 or 3 percent of the total rise over the last 5 years is the Trump rise. The Democrats really do control the media even though they don’t control “YouTubers”.
My living costs are WAY DOWN! Having no daily commute to work I go a whole month on 1 tank of gas. Having paid off my house mortgage, I was able to cancel home insurance for last 7 years, saving a ton of money. Similarly having paid cash for car, I do not need to buy required liability insurance. My 4 year old car has only 12,000 miles, it is almost like new with no issues. In Florida one can self-insure auto-liability. So I cancelled State Farm 3 years ago. Another nice savings. But the biggest savings comes from zero medical expense since 1997, when I quit my job due to several health issues (most scary was irregular heart beats) and changed to a much more healthy lifestyle of daily exercise. Since year 1999, I have zero out of pocket medical expense! I visited my doctor Yesterday for routine 4 month check up. He looked over results of my bloodwork tests from Quest and actually said “you are disgustingly healthy LOL”. Life is good at age 86 after discovering benefits of daily aerobic exercise back in 1999.
“No more foreign wars.”
So ... If we’re attacked by Iran or similar, we just sit here and take it? We don’t fight back?
Nice. 🙄
Exactly right. I just turned 75 and have been through lots of economic cycles. I bought my first house in 1978 when mortgage rates were in the mid teens. I've lived through steady low inflation, high inflation, and many swings between the highs and lows. It happens. Nobody likes it, but it's life.
For perspective, my Dad was born in 1924 in Danzig, Germany just one year after the TRILLION PERCENT PER YEAR Weimar hyperinflation. People got paid, put their hundreds of pounds of currency on a wheelbarrow (weight pounds, not British currency Pounds) and raced to the store to buy something, anything, before the price doubled in the next hour. Somehow they survived. My gr-grandfather managed to keep his factories. My grandfather somehow managed to save enough to book passage for his young family to NYC in October 1927. Then, 18 years later, my gr-grandfather was evicted from Danzig and forced back to western Germany at age 80. They got out with their lives.
On my mom's side, her gr-grandfather and family lived in a sod house on the Saskatchewan prairie for 9 years before they could save enough money to build a wood house.
People today don't seem to have any sense of what their ancestors went through and the hardships they endured to get us to the point of abundance and ease. It really hacks me off.
It'll help if the war ends in Iran.
But why would Iran do a favor for Trump?
Especially before November?
We'll pay more for gas. Therefore we are more likely to vote for the Democratic Party.
Then Iran will get a better deal.
The cause of inflation is longstanding but it is not complicated or multi faceted.
The only cause of inflation is the government spending more than it takes in and creating money to pay its debts.
The rising price of individual commodities may rise due to imbalances in supply and demand but overall rises in the cost of living is almost always inflation and inflation is caused by government.
Trump has made some cuts to government but fighting two expensive wars at the same time while propping up the governments of the nations we support is more than this nation can handle.
Something has to give and those we elect to lead us need to admit that we can't afford to continue these wars while also having a generous social welfare system.
When haven’t prices increased from year to year?
Oh, during the depression!
And the most they’ve increased is under Rat’s rule.
