The region prepares for another escalation after President Trump threatened new strikes
Iran fired a drone barrage into Kuwait on Saturday, hitting a U.S. ally following President Trump’s vow to intensify military strikes in a rapidly expanding Middle East war.
Kuwait said it shot down the Iranian volley, but the renewed fire added more tension to a region bracing for more conflict. Trump ordered the military to launch a fresh attack on Iran to bring Tehran to the negotiating table, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
U.S. embassies in the Middle East told Americans to consider departing the region. Airlines are extending flight cancellations to Arab Gulf states, which have spent decades building themselves up as international airport hubs. The U.S. warned airspaces may soon be closed.
Iran kept the Strait of Hormuz—once the passageway for 20% of the world’s crude oil—effectively closed. One ship near the strait was damaged after being struck by a projectile on Friday and another in a separate incident reported a nearby explosion, according to U.K. Maritime Trade Operations group, a security group affiliated with the British Navy.
Iranian and American leaders are both escalating their war rhetoric. President Trump said Friday during a televised cabinet meeting that the U.S. “will be hitting them very hard.”
“At some point, they’re going to say, ‘We just can’t take it anymore,’” Trump said.
Ali Abdollahi, a senior Iranian military commander, said that the U.S. is accelerating a wider regional war and that Iran considers countries in the region cooperating with the U.S. as complicit.
“Any country that chooses to...”

Now the IRGC is trying playing the widening the war card .
A bit late for that one
They hide among the civilians which makes strikes difficult.
IMHO, in addition to militarily defeating them, it's also important to take away their self-righteousness and to defeat them ideologically - pointing out the incongruence of their actions and positions to the concept of God as loving, merciful, and forgiving.
Utter defeat,
Or expect more terrorism and more innocents killed.
The US must complete this mission.
Past time to destroy all the refineries and power plants in Iran.
Get that done by Monday.
“Iran Stokes the Middle East War With Drone Attacks on Kuwait”. They’re both muslim countries right? Guess the muslims don’t even like each other.
Shia vs Sunni.
Notice President Trump seemed to believe that a reasonable group of military opponents in Iran would back down when he said there will be a hard hitting series of attacks (the ones a few days ago plus the ones last month for 14 days) but now he has to understand they do not act in a reasonable manner. They are doomsday zealots who think they are going to Paradise when everybody dies including themselves. Nutjobs.
Like that US religious group Heaven’s Gate led by the minister Marshall Applewhite who killed themselves when their wild eyed leader said a mothership was in space on the way to Earth.
The IRGC does not have a top-down command structure.
They have layer-upon-layer of crazier and crazier, and they all operatate autonomously.
Agree entirely. This is one time that allowing the other side to ‘save face’ would be a huge mistake.
??? You can't defeat an ideology. There are still communists and Nazis in this world.
And then what? Nation-build? Put boots on the ground so we can nation-build?
Anybody still think this military action against Iran was a good idea?
Occupy Kargh.
So will they be like the Japanese soldiers caught in the jungles after WWII ended and ready to go on fighting?
They already seem to defy their religious zealot leaders who make phony agreements on memos of understanding and ceasefires and then the IRGC just breaks them.
He didn’t explain why but one of the paid military strategy commenters on Fox News said a few weeks ago, taking over Kharg Island and defending ships in the gauntlet of the Strait of Hormuz were two strategies not to pursue. I wish he had been allowed to elaborate. Seems to go against all the FR beliefs.
RE: The IRGC does not have a top-down command structure.
Just thought of something. That makes them like the US armed forces people who are supposed to take the advice of the traitors Mark Kelly, Slotkin and the others about weighing the pros and cons of all the orders from commanders.
IRGC could be saying “well, we’ll obey the Lebanon stuff but disobey about not attacking Arab allies.” No way to run a war.
Islam claims to be the final revelation of the same God that gave the tablets to Moses, and the same God who sent Jesus (though they claim Jesus is a prophet - not the Son of God). They claim that Islam is built on top of Judaism and Christianity - as though it is somehow the superior final word.
That said, they need to be forced to answer/explain how the ‘turn the other cheek’ teachings of Jesus are compatible with the violence of Islam. They need to answer why taqiyya (condoned lying) is compatible with ‘thou shall not give false witness). They need to explain why a loving God would condone the evil they've visited among others.
Seems weak kneed to me but the optics of invading Iran and the casualties, and the oil price, before the mid-terms...blah, blah, blah. Maybe he’s low on powder.
Lincoln had the stones to do it before his election! He won’t get on Rushmore if he doesn’t put the muzzies in their place.
That should have happened after the first cease-fire negotiations failed. PDJT better finish this war soon with all out attack on power plants, otherwise it looks very bad for him. Power plants enable IRGC to continue firing drones and missiles.
