Four teenagers were killed when a car hit a parked train during a brief police chase after fleeing a traffic stop on Chicago's Southwest Side early Sunday morning.

I was going to say hit the train was not a factor, but after looking at the video, but for the train being there, they may have slowed down enough not to cause instant death. We cannot see what is on the otherside of the train. But you fly off a bridge, you take what it gives you.

I listened to the recording of the initial incident and the pursuing Chicago officer said someone pointed a rifle out of the window of the truck. The officer never specified if the rifle was pointed at the initial citizen victim who called 911 or if it was pointed in the direction of the officers. Media is already starting to infer there was some type of conspiracy. The sick Chicago media loves to fan the flames.

It’s Google, so that photo could be a few years old. I don’t drive in Chicago often, but I’ve driven it enough to know that there is perpetual construction going on there. Gotta keep those unions happy…..

It’s correct to write that the car hit the train. The driver caused the car to hit the train. The driver and passengers hit the inside of the car and each other. Of course, at that speed they may have flown from the car and hit the train as well.

Google Maps says 2026 and knowing Chicago winters, I suspect the construction started in late spring.

they must have been flying to get over that barrier..it didn’t look like anything collapsed or was pushed over or fell per the video

The driver drove off the space between the two parallel spans, not either span. You can see the two spans in Google Maps at the following link:

It looks like there's been construction in that location. I wouldn't be surprised if the contractor gets dragged into a lawsuit for not having barriers or a dirt berm in place.
