ROCKFORD, IL — Local man Curt Jennings said he was carefully holding off on forming any opinions about a new movie until political commentators informed him whether it is woke or epically based.
Jennings steadfastly refused to even watch the trailer of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey until his preferred online personalities issued a definitive ruling on the film.
"Some of my friends are all saying it's good, but is it based?" said Jennings. "What if I enjoyed the movie, only to later discover that it is not based? What if it is, in fact, woke? Can you imagine? I, for one, am not willing to take that risk."
Jennings adopted his current movie policy after he publicly panned the latest Toy Story installment, only for political commentators to inform him that the movie was "super based."

Not to worry, Curt. If it comes from Hollyweird, you can skip it. And your life will be no poorer, and perhaps better, for having avoided it.
I don’t need to smell crap to know that it stinks.
LOL. This is funny but there is a reason there is a film critic industry. The idea that people should not form an opinion on a movie, TV show or other work of art until they see it or shouldn’t form one based on a critical review or pattern recognition of “Woke” indicators isn’t practical or even reasonable. People have to make judgements about what they are going to see based on critical reviews from people they trust or pattern recognition. Or whether the movie has an actor that they like or dislike. Or whether the director has a Woke take on the story. And its fine for people to have those opinions even if they have not seen the movie or TV show and act on them (i.e., see or not see the movie). Those who say you can’t form an opinion until you see it are being disingenuous.
My default opinion is that ALL Hollywood movies are deeply biased towards woke, so I wouldn’t go unless people I trust say it’s good and not biased.
The Critical Drinker on youtube gives an opinion on this film..

I’ve seen a few reviews from people who saw it. The best summarization is: It’s not particularly woke, but it’s also not very good.
That isn’t true. Something very good occasionally comes out.
I only watch movies the critics hate.
Right. Because Hollywood and its press is one big Jerk Circle, and the critic industry is like the coxswain in a rowing shell, calling out "Stroke! Stroke! Stroke!"
I believe Billy Squier had something to say about that with regard to the music biz.
I take movie critics with a grain of salt. Too often they let their biases rule their judgement. My motto is, If I liked it, it was a good movie. The only way to know for sure that I’m gonna like it is to watch it. I know it’s a gamble, spending money and time on an unknown.
That’s hilarious
Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” is garbage!
Helen of Troy was white! The black actress who plays her in the film never even read “The Odyssey”, which I was required to do as a freshman in university!
Sounds like a bunch of certain FReepers who scroll first to follow the room...
