As the Pentagon stays quiet, AP reconstructs a US strike that killed over 100 Iranian children

JERUSALEM (AP) — It was the deadliest reported strike in the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran. Most of the victims were children.

In almost any other conflict, these haunting truths would be seared into national memory. Yet more than 120 days since at least one U.S. missile struck an Iranian primary school, there remains no final accounting of what happened.

The Trump administration has yet to directly accept the blame or formally release findings of a Pentagon investigation into the bombing, even though the military possessed evidence almost immediately that the site of the school had been struck, a U.S. official with knowledge of the situation, who spoke on condition of anonymity in order to discuss an ongoing investigation, told The Associated Press.

The AP has reconstructed the story of the attack, beginning in the schoolyard on the morning of Feb. 28, drawing from open-source information, video footage, human rights reports and interviews with researchers and civilians inside and outside Iran to reveal previously unreported details about the bombing in Minab, including the diversity of children killed.

Still, many details about the blast remain elusive, as a lack of information from the Pentagon and politicization of the attack by Iran’s theocracy have complicated independent reporting efforts. That has created an accountability vacuum, leaving the families of the victims without resolution. Among the mysteries remaining are the number of munitions that hit the school and a complete list of the dead.

When asked last week about the incident, President Donald Trump said he hadn’t read the Pentagon’s report and had seen nothing to make him believe the U.S. had carried out the attack.

“I don’t know that they’re ever....”

I didn’t read anything they said, so can you tell me: did they explain why the IRGC families kept their kids home from school that day?

Or why there were 2 missiles stored in that school?

Or why all of the Tomahawk hits in the area were dead-center but the one that hit the school only hit the corner?

Or why the video of what is called a Tomahawk missile shows it coming from the wrong direction to be from US assets in the region, or why it had the shape of an Iranian missile?

Or why the teachers got out in plenty of time but the door to the boys’ floor was locked so the kids couldn’t get out, ensuring mass casualties?

Or why it was called an “all-girls school” when there was a boys’ floor which suffered the most casualties because the door was locked?

Did they happen to mention any of those things?

Of course not, just like they are not mentioning the rescued children in Venzueala who are "disappearing" into the maws of the child traffickers.

OK AP, now do the 30,000+ Iranian protesters murdered by the IRGC.

Accusing the AP of bias is easy; "media bias" is always the go-to low-hanging fruit.

However, if the Pentagon was actively investigating this and providing periodic updates, then no AP investigation would even be necessary.

Of course the AP will NEVER “reconstruct” the January slaughter of tens of thousands of anti-regime protesters. For them its always about trashing Donald J. Trump.

The AP reconstructs.

Where to start with this one.

AP:

Is it a reconstruction because you have already constructed stories like this in the past, complete with fake photos. Oh wait, that was Reuters. Still.

Is it just a construction and perhaps the “re” should have been dropped?

Or are you just leaving out any context whatsoever?

Or have you decided to now start burning the ashes of your credibility since you have no more credibility to burn?

In WWII an RAF bombing mission in Denmark targeting gestapo headquarters went wrong when a bomber crashed into a school and the follow on waves misinterpreted the smoke rising for the target. 123 civilians were killed including 87 kids.

How do you propose that they investigate this incident when they have no access to the location to collect forensic evidence, review records, or have the ability to interview any of the people involved or potential witnesses?

I think an investigation would start with reviewing the list of targets identified prior to the war and then struck during the war.

(Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, who stated that the military was investigating the incident, would be well aware of the limitations you describe. www.reuters.co.)

Sad sack, you hate us being in a war with Iran, with Israel as our ally. Tough luck! Now kindly bugger off.

That school was on an IRGC base. We used a dated map that showed its location being used for IRGC purposes/ not as a school

TRANSLATION: The AP hates America and the can'tbwait for Iran to nuke us.

Nobody targeted a primary jihad school. The deaths of any children are tragic but incidental. We've invested billions and billions on precision bombs and missiles for Iran and we're still waiting for our peace dividend.

This appears to be what happened.

I think a simple acknowledgement of our mistake and an assurance that, going forward, we will only use the most current data available for targeting purposes would go a long way in calming the critics.

Knowing who traffics children and who doesn’t is an IQ test.

(Hint: the test is not hard.)

If you can go a week without mentioning "IQ" I'll give you ten bucks.

I bet you can't.
