The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool still needs some algae emancipation.
Just days after the iconic Reflecting Pool reopened following President Trump’s $14 million renovation to seal the concrete bottom with an “American flag blue,” its familiar gnarly-looking green algae once again took over.
“Versus previous administrations, the National Park Service is actually maintaining the beautifully completed Reflecting Pool,” a spokesperson for the Department of the Interior told The Post.
“The nanobubbler technology has successfully destroyed the algae bloom that has plagued every pool reopening since 1922, most infamously, the Obama pool reopening that resulted in massive algae clumps taking over the pool’s surface,” the spokesperson went on.
“Now, due to deploying the advanced nanobubbler technology, the algae is dead and being vacuumed up as we speak. We thank President Trump for fixing the Reflecting Pool for good.”
In addition to sealing the concrete bottom of the Reflecting Pool, the Trump administration spent $1.7 million on an upgraded ozone nanobubbler filtration system, which is intended to disperse tiny oxygen bubbles to undercut algae’s food supply, according to online federal contracting records.
Algae has been a perennial issue in the shallow, 6.7 million-gallon artificial basin, which was constructed in the early 1920s.
The National Park Service initially indicated the return of the green-looking water was the result of dormant algae that sat in the pipes for weeks and came roaring back after the massive pool was filled back up.

The flux capacitors were flooded.
The nanobubbler needs more dilithium crystals.
Can’t they install an in-line UV sterilizer? Of course, it would have to be very large capacity, but what do they use in public aquariums?
Shock doesn’t kill it does it?
They no longer wield that kind of power. The game is over. They won’t be “changing” anyone’s mind over this who doesn’t already hate Trump.
Glad we never had a pool.....too much maintenance and then we get a hot tub....shoulda got a pool.....LOL
I didn’t have this problem last year! I wonder if there’s something in the air encouraging the bloom in my pool and the nation’s reflecting pool.
A certified pool operator could fix this.
They just dumped a bunch of bleach.
As I recall the water for the reflecting pool comes from the Potomac River tidal basin. I don’t know how much filtration it gets, but I doubt it is enough.
🤣
I’m happy he did it, but I think the let down was with the folks in charge of the repair. Not sure they had everything well planned and thought out.
Elon can fix it
Fountains ...reflect on bubbles....and God, not stupid buildings on the other side.
Maybe when politicians put the country first, after God, the algae will just die....
you are the embarrassment exploiting us. Go take your hate you get from the leftwing lying medias somewhere else. bye
