The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool still needs some algae emancipation.
Just days after the iconic Reflecting Pool reopened following President Trump’s $14 million renovation to seal the concrete bottom with an “American flag blue,” its familiar gnarly-looking green algae once again took over.
“Versus previous administrations, the National Park Service is actually maintaining the beautifully completed Reflecting Pool,” a spokesperson for the Department of the Interior told The Post.
“The nanobubbler technology has successfully destroyed the algae bloom that has plagued every pool reopening since 1922, most infamously, the Obama pool reopening that resulted in massive algae clumps taking over the pool’s surface,” the spokesperson went on.
“Now, due to deploying the advanced nanobubbler technology, the algae is dead and being vacuumed up as we speak. We thank President Trump for fixing the Reflecting Pool for good.”
In addition to sealing the concrete bottom of the Reflecting Pool, the Trump administration spent $1.7 million on an upgraded ozone nanobubbler filtration system, which is intended to disperse tiny oxygen bubbles to undercut algae’s food supply, according to online federal contracting records.
Algae has been a perennial issue in the shallow, 6.7 million-gallon artificial basin, which was constructed in the early 1920s.
The National Park Service initially indicated the return of the green-looking water was the result of dormant algae that sat in the pipes for weeks and came roaring back after the massive pool was filled back up.

Add some clorox.
Have they never heard of pool shock?
I could go to the local swimming pool supply store and fix this.
Literally common sense that the pipes would also contain algae and an “after cleaning” up would be required, this is a big nothing burger
Can’t they just add some Shock?
I blame the Irish guy...............
Just pour in a couple gallons of bleach.
so we can swim there soon? can we charge people to do so? sounds like a good business in the summer.
I have read they can’t add certain chemicals because it drains into waterways and will harm fish, aquatic life and water birds.
The problems are much greater than anything a coating could fix. That’s why I never bought Trump’s claims that he saived so much money by hiring his pool guy.
The water doesn’t circulate????
Unlike Uvama, Trump won’t let it stay that way.
never underestimate how foul liberals are. They are the people who poop all over a public restroom sink, floor , walls, everywhere!!!! They are like 2 year olds playing with it, and Very proud of themselves.

I have heard that too. Local wildlife may drink directly from it also
Plenty of chemicals they can add, they will and they well sweep / vacuum up the dead microbes. In the end it will be blue again unless they decide not to clean it.
I would not be surprised to learn they have intentionally dumped in gallons of bad water just to cause this BUT the pipes thing should have been expected and is likely a cause.
Another embarrassment the Commurats can exploit.
What did they do in golden olden days when it was first built and for decades after?
Give it some time and maybe it works.
