President Donald Trump told the media on Wednesday, “I love the inflation” report that came out earlier in the morning, showing inflation had risen above 4% for the first time in three years.
“Are you concerned, Mr. President, about the latest inflation number, which came out this morning? Could that be a–” a reporter asked Trump during an Oval Office Q&A.
Trump cut in and answered, “No, I love it. The numbers were great. You know what I really love? I love the inflation.”
“You know why? Because as soon as this war is over, you know, I can say it now. Something you didn’t know. Do you know we’ve been taking out millions of barrels of oil? Nobody knows it. You know who doesn’t know about it? Iran — until right now. We took out, the other night, 22 ships, late at night, with no lights, because they don’t have any radar, because we blasted the crap out of it,” Trump continued, adding:
We took it, that’s why oil is $85 a barrel. I mean, you take a look. Remember when I did this, I said, look, the one bad thing will be, we hit the best economy we’ve ever hit. And I said to my people, I had Scott, I had Howard, I have Pete, I had all of them. I had Todd in the room. I said, the one thing we have to do now — we had just hit the highest stock market in history, highest 401ks in history, everything was going well — and I said, I hate to do this to you guys, but Iran’s going to have a nuclear weapon very soon. We have to attack."

When he stated, "We took out, the other night, 22 ships, late at night, with no lights, because they don’t have any radar, because we blasted the crap out of it," he's talking about non-Iranian vessels that transited the Strait using Oman's territorial waters.
Problem is, that's still a pittance of the pre-war levels:
Tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has collapsed by 90% to 95% compared to pre-war levels, analysts concur.

He didn’t say “their” ships, he said “We took out, the other night, 22 ships,” TRAPPED SHIPS.

The 'supply chain' issues have nothing to do with COVID right now and everything to do with Trump deciding in February of 2026 to start a war with Iran that his own advisors told him would result in Iran impinging traffic through the Strait.
The question is, are you stupid enough to believe the current inflation levels are the result of Biden, and not the result of Trump's $2+ trillion dollar deficits and stupid war?
As a Trump supporter, not a Trump WORSHIPPER, this was an incredibly stupid thing to say, no matter the context. If I were a Democrat candidate, I’d be using this in campaign ads. It makes Trump sound like he doesn’t care about the Average Joe. In an age of sound bites, you just can’t say things like this. Sheesh.

This is a misleading headline but Trump gives the media every opportunity to do this. Rush used to say that Trump had a problem in communication. Which people only hear sound bites. He expects people to understand what his thoughts are. In this case, you know mediate knew exactly what he was talking about, but he gave them the opportunity to take it out of context.
You have entirely missed the point that the Left will be glad to take the comment out of context, and that low information swing voters will buy it.
