I saw shredded fed-ex boxes taped back together and labeled art a while back in the MOMA. I made comments out loud laughed so hard I had to leave before getting ejected.

That wasn’t just carved, it was carved then meticulously polished. If not equally polished in its entirety it would t look real.

And not just any marble — another sculptor had started up with that hunk of marble 30 years earlier, screwed it up or was dissatisfied with the stone, and abandoned the work (presumably an entirely different work).
Those works are almost as good as someone dribbling paint on an old drop cloth. /s
Polishing is the final step of sculpture, always, unless some modern talent wants to make a statement with an unpolished work.
The statement being, I’m bored and I consider it finished, pay me now.

He was a genius.......almost super human. He was driven by the Divine, and the energy of that was revealed in his work.
This is simply proof that Heaven exists. Period.
