Consumers are being encouraged to check their freezers for a product that might contain harmful or potentially deadly bacteria.
In the latest recall linked to salmonella risks associated with powdered milk, a popular frozen food sold by Costco and Walmart has been pulled from shelves.
The Hill provided these details:
The most recent recall was shared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Monday. Select batches of Motor City Pizza Co. 5 Cheese Bread were recalled because the dry milk powder was used in the five-cheese sauce blend.
Other recalls linked to the powder impact frozen pizzas, pork rinds, multiple Zapp’s and Dirty brand chips, several snack mixes sold under brand names Fisher, Squirrel Brand, Southern Style Nuts, and Target’s private label, Good & Gather; select croutons sold at Kroger stores in several states; specialty beverages; and select 3-ounce bottles of Pork King Good Sour Cream & Onion seasoning products.
Also recalled because of the powder were several batches of sour cream and onion cheese curds sold only in New York, select pita chips sold at Giant Eagle stores in five states, a specific lot of sour cream and onion popcorn seasoning, multiple products containing a white cheddar seasoning, and a parmesan ranch seasoning product sold at Walmart stores nationwide.
Food recalls have been in the news a lot over the past few years, with the latest salmonella risks increasing the pace:
A report from Prevention added this:
According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), salmonella is a group of bacteria that can cause gastrointestinal illness and fever. It can spread through raw or undercooked foods or via improper food handling.
Most people who become infected with salmonella develop symptoms (such as diarrhea, fever, or cramps) between 6 hours and 6 days after exposure, and are sick for four to seven days, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). However, at-risk populations like young children, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems can fall very ill—developing lethargy, a rash, and blood in the urine or stool—and could face the risk of death.
More rarely, salmonella infection can lead to complications, including infection of the blood, bones, joints, brain, or other organs. These complications cause additional symptoms.

Check the hooves. You can always tell by the hooves..........
Lack of sales would probably take care of that im short order.
I supported a factory that made sausage casings and co-ex gel.
The quality people, especially the ones in the testing labs worked really hard and caught stuff before going out to the customers.
If you are eating pickled pig’s feet, then there’s already been a problem that you may not have noticed.

I think you’re asking a most important question. More and more of our food seems to be coming from that part of the world.
Although is there really a difference any more? < /sarc>
What makes this so bad is that this is not a fly by night dairy. They are one of the biggest in the US and should have their standards and procedures in place. That they either did not or were criminally careless is very very bad.
Because it was food.
Not much you could do about things after they left the dock but by gum you could make sure any mishandling or contamination did not happen on YOUR watch.
they just made sour dough bread using the yeast found in Otzis stomach, frozen for 5,500 years.
I knew that - LOL! (But I do scrub counters, etc., with Lysol wipes when working with raw chicken.)
