An Update of Evidence that Glyphosate (Roundup) is a Cause of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma
Science Direct ^ | Mar 2026 | Dennis D. Weisenberger

Posted on 06/05/2026 7:46:15 AM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

Glyphosate-based formulations (GBFs), such as Roundup, are the most heavily used herbicides in the world. In 2015, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) concluded that glyphosate and GBFs are probably carcinogenic to humans, mainly for non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL)...

In 2021, the French Institute of Health and Medical Research... also found that many studies demonstrated genotoxic damage (DNA breaks or structural changes) consistent with the induction of oxidative stress by glyphosate/GBFs, sometimes at exposure levels experienced by human populations...

In a recent study of Thai farmers, a high frequency (97.6%) of those spraying GBFs with backpack sprayers had high dermal and inhalation exposures, with high urine levels of glyphosate at the end of spraying (38.7 ug/g creatinine) and the next morning (37.3 ug/g creatinine)...

In another study, Thai farmers using high-pressure backpack sprayers had similarly high exposures to glyphosate (29 ug/g creatinine) and the urinary half-life of glyphosate was prolonged by 23 hours in those spraying 2...

These new findings should prompt new critical and unbiased reviews of these agents by the US EPA and other pesticide regulatory agencies around the world, including re-evaluation of the current acceptable exposure...

“probably” no direct proof of causality.

It will be back to diesel and salt then.

I’m no Thai farmer though.

One must always look at the risk benefit ratio which favors Roundup. Take this herbicide away and the effects on agriculture would be devastating. I also noticed the article did not establish cause and effect but much innuendo.

I use Glyphosate as SYRUP on the Asbestos Shingles I eat for breakfast each day. ;)

I’m sorry for those effected, but I don’t believe all of this hype for one minute.

I’ve lived in Rural Wisconsin for most of my life and I have no Farm Friends or Relatives who have had any problems.

โ€œ In another study, Thai farmers using high-pressure backpack sprayers had similarly high exposures to glyphosate (29 ug/g creatinine) and the urinary half-life of glyphosate was proloโ€

All this says is that guys using backpack sprayers spraying glyphosate (Roundup), are exposed to it and have it their urine!!
Nothing to do with cancer??!!

Cooks in Indian restaurants are exposed to curry and expel curry in their urine.
Same logic.

By the way , Chrmical sold as Roundup for garden use, isnโ€™t glyphosate any more.
They kept the Roundup name but use a totally different chemical .
Yes you can still buy glyophosphate but have to read the label

So out of the hundreds of pesticides, fertilizers, and other compounds used, which is the culprit or are the culprits?

Plus correct for all other factors: age at onset, race, diet, obesity, smoking, etc.

RFK JR!

He won a $290 million lawsuit over Roundup but now he is supporting the use of it.

You are quite correct. I but this stuff on Amazon 41% glyphosate, same as the old maximum strength Roundup

There is more definite and even conclusive then the word โ€œprobablyโ€

Glyphosate kills weeds and anything it touches, but they will come back. It doesn’t kill roots. Roundup had additional chemicals in it which killed roots.

Now if you spray a field or even a small area with Gplyphsate, then turn the soil over, now you have impacted the soil and potentially any plants you decide to grow.

You introduce the poison into the soil, you are going to ingest some level of it.....not enough to kill the plant......maybe enough to help along cancers.

Many wineries use glyphosate at the based of their vines etc to prevent weeds/grass from using water.

The normal home user has nothing to worry about unless they are making Roundup spritzers

This might be evidence of improper use of the chemicals, not proper use.

I hope you have a side of bacon with that. Asbestos Shingles can be an important part of a balanced breakfast, but doesn't provide you with needed Vitamin B-12.

I notice you chopped off the part of the map where the mapmaker goofily called glyphosate a pesticide when itโ€™s not.
