Big Vote today (48-1!) in the Energy and Commerce Committee on a Bill including The Sunshine Protection Act, which will be making Daylight Saving Time Permanent! This is so important in that Hundreds of Millions of Dollars are spent every year by people, Cities, and States, being forced to change their Clocks. Many of these Clocks are located in Towers, and the cost of renting, or using, Heavy Equipment to do this twice a year is prohibitive! The House will be attaching The Sunshine Protection Act to ''The Highway Bill." Great work by Troy Nehls, and all of the Members who voted, as well, for Railway Safety. I am going to work very hard to see The Sunshine Protection Act signed into Law. It's time that people can stop worrying about the ''Clock," not to mention all of the work and money that is spent on this ridiculous, twice yearly production. It will also be a very nice WIN for the Republican Party. Take it! We are going with the far more popular alternative, Saving Daylight, which gives you a longer, brighter Day - And who can be against that - This is an easy one! Thank you to everyone who supported this important Bill, and especially Chairman Brett Guthrie and Vern Buchanan.

You an please some of the people all of the time, and
you can please all of the people some of the time, but
you can never please all of the people all of the time.
I LOVE TRUMP... I support him, but I HATE this!! Let's go back to Standard time and stay there like Arizona and a few other sensible states!!
This is a majorly stupid,unnecessary, baaad idea. DST should either be scrapped all together or relegated to the Summer, as it once was, June to October would make sense.

I prefer DST, but I’m also really close to Pacific Time Zone border, I benefit even more in the summer nights having extra light. Come winter I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark, so it doesn’t matter in those months.
But if we want to get really vocal, what’s wrong with just being on UTC all year? :-)
It is bad enough that it starts so early which endangers school children. Having it year round would increase the risk to school children.
I doubt any energy is saved as people will be using more power because of the early morning darkness when getting ready for work.
Just hope all the software gets updated to adjust to the new time.
I want to be on Atlantic time until noon, then switch to Hawaiian time.
Yeah, that’s the ticket.
I want to live on Tulsa Time.
Let the states decide for themselves.

I don’t even see that it should be a matter for the state government. People can use clocks without the government’s help.
How about instead, a compromise Shift the whole clock change thing by a half hour.. Split the difference, and then make it permanent.
That way, neither side’s ‘ox is gored’ too deeply.
Hawaii Standard Time (HST) is the best...
China only has one time zone. Sucks to be the people on the west side.

I would like to put my money in treasury bonds and then immediately declare a time zone 30 years in the future.

Living in the higher Latitudes of the Lower 48, DST works just fine for me.
My recent ancestors were not total dummies.
I’m all for half hour time zones in the Lower 48.
