WHO declares Ebola outbreak in DR Congo an international emergency

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo a public health emergency of international concern.

The agency said the outbreak in DR Congo's eastern Ituri province, which has seen around 246 suspected cases and 80 deaths reported, does not meet the criteria of a pandemic emergency.

But it warned it could potentially be "a much larger outbreak" than what is currently being detected and reported, with significant risk of local and regional spread.

The current strain of Ebola is caused by the Bundibugyo virus, the health agency said, for which there are no approved drugs or vaccines.

Early symptoms include fever, muscle pain, fatigue, headache and sore throat, and are followed by vomiting, diarrhoea, a rash and bleeding.

The WHO said there are now eight laboratory-confirmed cases of the virus, with other suspected cases and deaths across three health zones including Bunia the capital of Ituri province, and the gold-mining towns of Mongwalu and Rwampara.

One case of the virus has been confirmed in the capital Kinshasa, believed to be in a patient returning from Ituri.

The WHO said that the virus has spread beyond DR Congo, with two confirmed cases reported in neighbouring Uganda. Ugandan officials said a 59-year-old man who died on Thursday had tested positive.

In a statement, the Ugandan government said the patient who died was a Congolese citizen whose body has already been returned to DR Congo.

A laboratory has also confirmed an Ebola case in the eastern city of Goma, currently controlled by the M23 rebels, the AFP news agency reported on Sunday.

The WHO said the ongoing security situation and humanitarian crisis in DR Congo, combined with high population mobility, the urban location of the hotspot, and the large number of informal healthcare facilities in...

So where is the MRNA vaccine for it? Let’s see an MRNA vaccine actually stop the spread of a virus. I thought pharma was going to be able to whip out a vaccine for everything that pops up?

International deadly illness of the week.
Hantavirus so last week.
Mask and “vaccine” panic.

This is the rerun of Ebola 2015, remember . . . know some persons who still have a box of face masks from THAT Ebola baloney in the garage. They had wised up during COVID, but never disposed of.

WHO BS. Do not engage.

It’s not an international emergency if they don’t allow any people with Ebola to *fly* out of DR Congo. Ebola kills quickly so slower forms of transport won’t allow its spread internationally.

Ebola appears dangerous and sounds even more dangerous... But there have been several ‘outbreaks’ and all of them have typically been contained without too much fuss... The fear-factor is much higher than the actual danger factor.

Ebola isn’t getting out of the Congo, hasn’t gotten out of the Congo previously... And likely won’t ever leave the Congo... Getting the natives to stop eating ‘bush meat’ would go a long way in controlling it for good. It typically gets contained and then some fool decides to eat just one more monkey thinking that this one won’t be like the other monkey’s.

Monkey’s carry Ebola... Stop eating monkey’s.

Next month tens of thousands of people from the DRC are coming to Houston first then Atlanta for round two of FIFA. There will be no screening or criteria other than having a valid tourist visa.

The DRC confirmed yesterday their first case of this strain of Ebola in the capital where every person who comes here will fly through to Paris, Turkey or Qatar or the UAE as there is no direct way here. Every time I went to the DRC for cobalt, gold or oil was via Paris it’s a single stop from DFW or Bush in Htown. It’s 21 days incubation you shed virus at 7 to 21 it’s one of the few bugs that asymptomatic people shed enough to pass transmission.

I was a over a NBC platoon as my first butter bar assignment we had the fox vehicles and Darth Vader suits USAARID is us. What you think you know you don’t as joe six pack I assure you don’t know. Ebola is one of the most studied bioweapons on earth second only to small pox. Ebola kills quick enough usually to limit its impact and spread unless you let tens of thousands fly all over unchecked. Then stuff can get ugly quick.

I posted this in 2014.

“There have been 26 outbreaks since Ebola emerged in 1976, all of them in Africa, and 25 of them ended in Africa, now we are in our 26th, and during all these decades and dozens of outbreaks, the total deaths are equal to about 2 days of AIDs deaths.”
