A Frontier Airlines plane struck a trespasser on the runway at Denver International Airport on Friday evening, triggering an engine fire.
The plane was bound for LAX.
Passengers were evacuated three minutes after the trespasser was fatally hit.
According to reports, the unidentified man who was struck on the runway breached a perimeter fence shortly before the plane took off.
One passenger said the plane’s cabin began to fill with smoke.

VIDEO AT LINK..............
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy released a statement on the trespasser breach.
Late last night, a trespasser breached airport security at Denver Int’l Airport, deliberately scaled a perimeter fence, and ran out onto a runway.
The trespasser on the runway was then struck by Frontier Airlines Flight 4345 during takeoff at high speed. The pilot stopped takeoff procedures immediately.
The Frontier plane was then quickly evacuated while law enforcement and firefighters responded.
Preliminary reports are 12 people were hurt, with 5 taken to the hospital.
Local law enforcement handles airport security and is investigating with support from the @FAANews and TSA.
No one should EVER trespass on an airport.
Agreed. I wonder if any info will be released about that fatality?
“Pedestrian” my ass! If the plane was on a sidewalk then yes. Otherwise, they were trespassing. As Duffy said...”breached security”.
...hmmmmmm...a new catetory...”Suicide by airliner...”...??
Exceeds the 5 lb chicken, even a frozen one.
They haven’t even identified the person yet, according to the radio news.........
More of an Aviation Thunk! Splurrrrrr......
Sounds like that old Troy McClure film, Trespass To Danger .
I’m thinking a terrorist attack..........
““Pedestrian” my ass!”
Who are you quoting?
Indiengestion? Or, in de enginestion? Simple question— for what reason would any person enter into an airport perimeter and then cross an active runway unaware or aware of an aircraft/jetengines taking off at over 200 mph? Stupid, drunk? Or stupid, drunk and.. suicidal. Pretty definitive end, as likely the upper torso and head went in first. Iirc there is a safety feature of fuel shutdown/shutdown when the turbine is violently obstructed. They are titanium turbine blades, and the aperture reduces into the “jet” exhaust providing the thrust. Horrific, more than a fast train direct impact. Not survivable.

They should take what is left of his or her body and put it in front of the door of the ACLU HQ with a note saying “yeah I was better off not being forced into a mental institute🙄”.

They called her a “passenger”. She became one.
One or two seconds later, and the trailer top would have ripped the front landing gear right off the nose of the jet, most likely leading to dozens of dead and horribly burned passengers.
