Florida detectives are pursuing a group of teenagers whose late-night joyride across a local golf course left the pristine landscape scarred by deep tire tracks and thousands of dollars in property damage.
It happened around 7:17 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, at the Weston Hills Golf Course, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO).
Deputies responding to reports of suspicious activity arrived to find evidence of significant damage to the course’s greens. A witness at the scene told deputies that several juveniles had been riding motorized bikes and a golf cart across the course.
The scale of the disruption was captured in a video shared by local authorities, which allegedly shows the teenagers weaving through the landscape with a disregard for the property that officials say will cost thousands to repair.

I concentrated more on making money to support my comic book and record habit..............
“sentence them to mowing the grass”
AFTER they do the hard work of tearing out and replacing the greens.
They are breaking the law. Don’t be their cheerleader.
I’ve never been on a golf course, but I like the sport. What a senseless thing to do.
Perfect punishment.
I worked on a golf course for two years when I was young. It’s really not that hard to repair. You just cut out the damaged sod, fill in the ruts with fine soil and sand, and put new sod on top.
From the video snippet in the thread, there may not be all that much damage on the fairway. The greens and tees, on the other hand........
But you do have to buy the sod and someone with the skills has to replace the soil and cut place the sod.
There is also the law of opportunity cost. If you crew is fixing this damage they are not doing something else that needs doing. If they are using sod to fix this damage the sod is not being used to fix divots.
I would be willing to bet that some of these kids parents are members of this course, maybe live in homes backing up to the course.
Spoiled brat punks on their $2k dollar electric bikes.
They deserve to loose their motor bikes!
I didn’t either and my brother did too. He has many regrets now.
Put each in an orange jumpsuits and ankle irons while they personally fix all the damage. No checks from Mommy, work it off.
According to the article the police haven’t even caught the little bastards yet.
Of course I’m sure at least one of ‘em won’t be able to resist posting online somewhere.
Kids these days ain’t so bright.
For at least the last 60 years, every time I’ve looked at a golf course I’ve thought to myself, “Wouldn’t that make a lovely motocross park?”
I knew a guy from St. Lewis who told me of the night a bunch of the Budweiser Clydesdales stomped down a gate and went for a romp on a local golf course. The greenskeeper was pissed.
Some people crotch fruit shouldn’t be let out of their cages.
some people should not have reproduced!!!
Stupid kids.
Some of son’s friends took ATVs and ruined a bunch of greens on a local golf course after just graduating high school. Caused $40,000 in damage. One of them lost their football scholarship. My son asked what would I have done if he had participated & told him he’d be scrubbing toilets at the golf clubhouse until the debt was paid.
