Quitting coffee for just two weeks may make people less impulsive and less stressed, and switching to decaf could improve sleep and memory, a study suggests.
Scientists tracked 62 healthy adults to examine how coffee affects the body and brain. The group included 31 regular coffee drinkers and 31 people who did not drink coffee.
They found regular coffee drinkers experienced more impulsive behaviour and emotional reactivity than people who did not drink coffee.
The trial was relatively small, involving only 62 people.

The many well documented health benefits of coffee far outweighs the small amount of negatives.
I’m with you...
Coffee is out this cycle. Beer has re-entered the game as very good for you (this morning on network news). Eggs are on the bench ready to run back in because they were in contract dispute for a while. Red wine is waiting on the latest grant proposal. Bacon and jerky are still on injured reserve due to nitrates and pay disputes. Beef pushes the salary cap and is in a rebuilding phase.
Everything in moderation.
Yeah, I have a buddy who couldn’t sleep at night. I asked him what do you drink all day? His answer was coffee. I suggested to him to have one cup in the morning and not during the day time. He stopped it. He started falling asleep easily every night. Too much caffeine can really mess with sleeping.
Do you have ADD or ADHD? Or maybe anxiety issues normally? Serious question. The Mrs has some anxiety and if she wakes up in the night she can have a cup of coffee and it settles her down and she can get back to sleep.

Correlation is not causation.
Wow. They needed a study to show that drinking coffee affects your sleep and anxiety level. I could have given them the same results for have the $.
Because of health i have not have caffeine since 1974. I love the taste of coffee. so I drink a really nice brewed decaf. But it is all about taste not need.
🪛Screw that! ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️
high prices?
Coffee (is) (is not) good for you. I wish they’d make up my mind 🙄🤦♂️😖🤦♂️
Death before decaf! I gotta have something to get my brain started every morning.
frank
whatsa matter?

If I slept a good solid 6 hours, I have to crawl around on my hands and knees all day, with mini-naps any time I’d stop for 5 seconds. I need 8 hours sleep.
But only when something prevents me from sleeping 10 hours zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Couldn’t do this unless I lived alone with my cat who sleeps even more than I do Friend calls us “the two cats”.
Sorry. When you said you wanted a bigger cup it just wrote itself.
Instead of a picture, here is a Bible quotation:
“thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over”.
Psalm 23:5.
Understand that. I’m outliving all my friends, my son died, and my daughter ignores me. I do have a cat. Not eveyone loves cats, and you do have to love them because they nevr obey, But I do love Daisy, have made arrangements for a happy life for her after I die, willing to spend significant $$$ to insure that,
Remember the Beatles song:
Don’t you want somebody to love
Don’t you need somebody to love
You better find somebody to love..........
Fur persons really are lovable.
Day 3...Coffee.....no headache
I wish it helped. As someone with ADHD I have a paradoxical reaction to caffeine, e.g. it makes me sleepy. Wasn’t diagnosed until I was in my mid 30’s.
