Satire site the Onion says that it has — after 17 months legal wrangling — successfully landed a deal allowing it take over Infowars, the right-wing conspiracy-fueled site run by Alex Jones.
Ben Collins, CEO of the Onion, confirmed to Variety details of the company’s new plan to assume control of Infowars under a deal with Gregory Milligan, who was appointed by a bankruptcy court to manage the Infowars site.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Onion’s parent company, Global Tetrahedron, would pay $81,000 per month to license the infowars.com domain name and associated intellectual property including its name, as first reported by the New York Times. The deal would run for six months with an option to renew for another six months. The agreement must be approved by a judge before it takes effect.

Who has more gravitas?
The Onion or Alex Jones?
This is a step up for InfoWars.
This is from the Bee, right?
It’s not??
Howwwwww would that be possible? 🤔
This site will be insufferable. The Onion hasn’t been funny in 10 years.
It must be so nice living in your narcissistic little bubble.
Alex Jones brought this on by being an idiot, so it’s fitting that another idiot buys and trashes his legacy.
The Onion? They haven’t been funny or relevant for a couple of decades now.
How would anyone know the difference?
Basically the only “assets” infowars has is its name and any trademarks. And these only have value if they are associated with Alex Jones. Alex can just start a new site in his wife’s name and call it, say, InfoBattles dot com. He comes in as an employee running the site just as he used to for a salary of 500 bucks a year and all profits go to his wife. He is now shielded from the current judgment against him. And Infowars essentially continues as it always has.
How do you parody Alex Jones?
But that said, this Onion video is one of the funniest videos I have ever seen:

Heh, I have to give credit where credit is due!
what you said
Jones just burned his bridges with Trump. So I don’t expect any help there.
Someone should tell The Onion InfoWars is already a parody of itself.
Just a thought, perhaps you parody Alex Jones by calmly and rationally report the news instead of ranting and raving the end of the world is near
“Parody of itself”? Isn’t the Onion a bit late?
Alex got DJT a lot of voters from libertarian and other circles, likely a significant portion of the margins that get him elected
The last humorous things I saw from them were 20+ years ago and they have been liberal oriented for at least that long-yet many here will celebrate this since their idol is now made at AJ
“Just a thought, perhaps you parody Alex Jones by calmly and rationally report the news instead of ranting and raving the end of the world is near”
LOL. I think only a few people would get the joke. But an Alex Jones AI video reciting the news like Brit Hume would be funny.
