Freepers, where's gasdr? He touted the wonderfulness of the covid vaccine and defended it vociferously. He was also a welcome poster on other topics. I note he hasn't posted anything since 10/31/25 and it's worrisome.

During that whole mess I wondered how I would react to COVID because I have very rare issues and some issues that are only somewhat rare like no functioning CYp2d6 that has been shown to affect hydroxychloriquine. some research theorizes genetics played a role in why some drugs weren’t as effective.
I was extra vigilant. I didn’t catch it until I let my guard down. Razor blade sore throat ..the worst of my life.
I came out the other side okay but I don’t discount that the jab probably did help some people

I often say (in my posts) “Don’t bother to flame me because I never read responses and more importantly I don’t care what you think”.
If you don’t look at responses, you won’t know what they are saying about you. And if you don’t care what they think, even better.

Same here, had 3 jabs in 2021, thankfully no adverse side effects, but now the covid virus has morphed into much milder variety of flu so no need for more jabs. I do not even bother with the flu vaccine anymore. Last time I had flu or cold was 20+ years ago. It is absolutely amazing how beneficial daily half hour aerobic exercise is. Still mowing my suburban size lawn with push mowers in Florida summers at age 86. Unbelievable! But installed a robot mower in backyard, and will soon get one for front yard. I hate mowing in hot and humid weather.
Me too! At first I was in awe of the brilliant posters here back in the late 90s. I slowly started commenting & got more comfortable expressing myself & now at 72 I just speak my mind. I know some ppl will disagree with me but I don’t take it personally anymore unless they stoop to the level of insults. Of course, it’s a different story on X where I’m slinging crap at liberals every day. 🤣
The Covid Days were bad. The worst I saw here were the Tom Tancredo vs. Arnold Schwarzenegger fights. Very ugly. The Cruz vs. Trump fights could also be intense. The Russia-Ukraine war threads were also divisive.
There were a lot more people in the Tancredo vs. Schwarzenegger days. The intense arguments now are not so intense because more and more Freepers are passing away or leaving the site. Only a few FReepers can interact with different opinions and not take great offense, go “hot,” or be driven away.
I think more people would join Free Republic if it were more collegial in its debates. But its tough and requires great discipline and aplomb as things can get hot quick sometimes. It’s hard to find as their are no awards for being collegial. It’s its own reward.
He was an anesthesiologist, but I don’t remember that he hated ivermectin. I think it was more about timing of ivermectin in the hospital after a patient was in full blown problems and going downhill fast. It wasn’t a saving grace.
He also hated remdesivir. We all know why. “Run…death is near!”
Full disclosure, hubby and I both got the first two inoculations (Moderna) because we were emotionally blackmailed into getting them, so that we could meet and hold our first newly born grandson. Those were the only two we ever got. Our kids finally stopped nagging us about them. They knew I didn’t want the first two, so they stopped making our relationship deteriorate, which would’ve happened had they continued to press me.
Gas_dr was the reason I finally acquiesced to the shots. There was a lot of peer pressure. He walked me through what to expect,
I vaguely remember a sort-of cabal of pro covid vaccinees here on FR. I remember that Mom person and yeah, red badger, but only vaguely. gasdr stood out for some reason, probably because he posted so much and it made me wonder how a doctor could have so much free time. And yes, now that you mention it, they all faded away at around the same time. Interesting.
His wife had an accident (fell or something) in January or maybe February, so he was taking a little leave from FR. I’ll bet he still checks in now and again. He maybe doesn’t have much time to post. Miss him.

The alinsky tactic is used to shut down opposition who are right. They cant stand opposition. What happens on fr though is pointing out when someone is wrong like gasdoc was- that isnt alinsky tactic. There is a difference. Yeah he got abuse, however, he gave it too, and insisted on keeping with the “safe and effective” lie. People pointing that out shoukdnt be aligned with alinsky types because alinsky types shut down the truth, fr shuts doen the lies.

Gasdr may have been genuine, I couldn’t tell. We had some good discussion, even if we didn’t agree.
Some shills were pretty obvious. There are lot of them the last few years.

But he was a lying piece of human scum.
He insisted Jahi McMath was dead, decomposing, rotting and belittled and insulted anyone who pointed out facts not supporting his extreme position.
Four years later when she did in fact die, I asked him to comment.
Coward wouldn’t even respond.
