Freepers, where's gasdr? He touted the wonderfulness of the covid vaccine and defended it vociferously. He was also a welcome poster on other topics. I note he hasn't posted anything since 10/31/25 and it's worrisome.

That is a fair point. Free Republic was set up as a place for polite and reasoned conservative conversation. Nothing broke that mold more than the Covid vaccination discussions.
Many folks here shared useful information. But just as often, it was schoolyard “You’re stupid.” “No, you’re stupid.”
I get the passion. But most of that sure wasn’t helpful.

I’ve been here since 2000. and it has always been that way. In the beginning I would make a comment and boom, I would get blasted, so I stopped commenting. I’m much older now and I couldn’t care less how you respond to me. I’ve grown a much thicker skin.

I did manage to get a couple of shots of J&J in the short period of time between them getting it on the market after the initial runs were sabotaged, and the time that the establishment suppressed it. Looks like J&J had a vaccine that actually worked. And that couldn't be tolerated.

Yes, and they were all condescending and insulting to any of us who disagreed about the shot. It’s one thing to have a different opinion, but these folks pushed the shot and accused those of us who were skeptical of being a danger to society.
One of them called people who didn’t wear face diapers, “maskless idiots.” Gasdr called me a Nazi when I stated I was a “pureblood,” obviously referring to the fact that I hadn’t taken the shot.
I hope these posters are OK, but they did stir up some legitimate resentment here.

And the government admitted using taxpayer money to pay people to post in favor of Jim Jones Jabs for COVID-1984. That's not even counting those paid by Pfascist korporations.
Several of those people posted here. Their points were right out of a team playbook and didn't stand up to counterargument at all.
Initially,it was the lockdown that raised the ire of some freepers,me for one...as it turns out we were right...but we must keep different views afloat just to keep us thinking and reevaluating.
