Trump Says Gas Prices Coming Down As U.S. ‘Leaving’ Iran War ‘Very Soon’

President Donald Trump dismissed concerns about rising gas prices, insisting they’ll be dropping “very soon” once the Iran war wraps up.

Trump spoke to reporters at the White House on Tuesday after signing an executive order cracking down on mail-in voting, and when confronted about the sharp rise in gas prices since the strikes against Iran were launched, the president insisted the U.S. will be leaving Iran “very soon.”

According to AAA, the national average for gas is around $4. One month ago, it was below $3. The country hasn’t faced a $4 average for gas since 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine.

Trump argued that even though Americans are paying more for gas, they’re also feeling “safer” because of his strikes against Iran. He also insisted the war will be wrapped up in a matter of weeks as critics have questioned the timeline claims from him and others in the administration.

He also insisted that had he not launched the strikes against Iran, the country would have obtained and used a nuclear weapon by now.

“We have a madman that wants a nuclear weapon, and if we did not knock him out B-52 bomber, we would have a nuclear weapons right now. It would have been used before this, before today. And you may not be standing there asking that question, okay?” he said.

The president said:

All I have to do is leave Iran, and we’ll be doing that very soon. And they’ll come tumbling down. And stock prices were up today almost to a record because they know two things. Number one, we have a safe country. We had to take a little detour because we had a madman named [Ali] Khamenei who sadly is no longer with us. And we had regime change already. We’ve knocked out one regime, then we knocked out the second regime. Now we have a group of people that’s very different. They’re much more reasonable, I think much more, much less radicalized.

We’ve had regime change. We’re dealing with people that are much more rational. And it’s very, it’s amazing what we’ve done. We had to make a little detour. So when the stock market broke all records just a few weeks ago, when it hit 50,000 on the Dow, 7,000 and the S&P, I said to the American people, it’s time that we have to make a little detour, because we have a madman that wants a nuclear weapon, and if we did not knock him out B-52 bomber, we would have a nuclear weapons right now. It would have been used before this, before today. And you may not be standing there asking that question, okay?

the U.S. will be leaving Iran “very soon.”

Please, Mr. President, don't quit before the job is done, and in my view, it's not done.

Iranian leader: “Ha, the infidels are ready to surrender.”
Aide: “Your Excellency, I think he meant for Iran to surrender.”

I just filled up today. Gas price was $3.29 a gallon. Still not too high.

Saying you’ll be done soon just encourages the enemy to hold out and to conserve some resources so they can start up again later.

Sure Trump.

I don’t think we will be leaving soon and gas will not go back down to what it was before. Prices for eveything will remain high.

Trump says lots of things and tends to be all over the map.

Gasoline prices aren’t too bad around here, but diesel prices are shocking. My electric bill is tied to natural gas, and it’s only up a few cents.

Today, in my little Canadian town in the Cascades, gasoline went to $1.929 per LITRE.

This is getting to be quite expensive indeed.

5.80 in the peoples republic of californiastan san jose camp, for 87.

Diesel is avg 7-8 bucks a gallon

I saw this crap coming in December and got my father in laws prius in exchange for a rav4 I,picked up. Been an excellent deal since my Van(diesel) would be 200 bucks to fill 25 gallons.

So if we leave the Gulf, prices just go down?

Iran will just let things happen again?

None of this makes sense. I’m hoping this is fog of war stuff.

We never wanted to go to Iran. We got Venezuela in the most efficient, peaceful way in human history. Iran and Cuba saw that and the people started to revolt. 30,000 some of protestors in Iran were killed. Iran’s people begged us to come and help.

So help the Western world did. Israel and the US struck and knocked out multiple levels of leadership in precision strikes. The people had a change to finish the job.

But I guess they remembered what Carter did to the shah because they did the same thing but in reverse. Wtf?

But that toothpaste couldn’t be put back in the tube. Iran attacked other opec nations and regional allies we couldn’t believe our eyes! Those allies, who we thought might actually protest our actions, immediately got on board on it.

But we’re still fighting alone. I believe we are fighting this war because Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, et al already promised us nearly 15 TRILLION dollars over 10 years investment in US soil projects.

So yeah, we’ll jump in. they’ve paid the bill so to say.

Am I wrong? Did what I just lay out not happen like that? And what about our escorts through the strait? We’re “allowing” (if that’s the right term) Russian oil deliveries out? We’re taking out of our SOR for US public use (that’s a bad idea.. the SOR is for the military)?

I just don’t get it what are we missing?

If this oil distribution is hurting us (and it isn’t. The prices we see now still proudly include the government taxes) it’s killing Russia and China. I mean Trump could win everything. We could win everything. The worlds oil supply is in our hands.

Why would we walk away from such a thing? Makes no sense! What am I missing?
