Top California Democrats have moved to officially strike disgraced union boss Cesar Chavez‘s name from an official state holiday — saying they’ll pass a bill to rename to celebration before the end of the month.
Gov. Gavin Newsom said Thursday he’ll support a plan to rebrand March 31 — celebrated since 2000 as Cesar Chavez Day after the labor activist and accused child rapist — as Farmworkers Day.
California Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas and Senate President Pro Tem Monique Limón are scrambling to pass the bill before the end of the month.
“The farmworkers’ movement was always bigger than just one man or one person. Given the horrendous allegations that were made public for the first time yesterday, this is a welcomed change,” Newsom’s office wrote on X.
State lawmakers must pass a bill for Newsom to sign to rename the holiday, and there appears to be bipartisan support for the move.
Assemblymember Alexandra Macedo separately proposed renaming the day to celebrate the contributions of farm workers instead of Chavez, alongside the Republican-led California Hispanic Legislative Caucus.
“Today, [Rivas] stood up on the Assembly Floor to share the great contributions of farm workers. As a granddaughter of a farm worker, I share his passion,” Macedo wrote on X.
“It is appropriate to rename César Chávez Day to Farmworker Day.”
Officials up and down the state have moved to erase Chavez from dozens of public monuments.
A memorial site in Stockton was covered with a sign reading “Believe Women And Children,” and Fresno State University plans to chuck a statue of the union leader after covering it with a black tarp Wednesday following a report that he groomed and sexually assaulted minors.
Meanwhile, California teachers are being asked to rapidly edit or purge references...

Call it Cheap Labor Express Day
The age of consent in Mexico can be as low as 12 depending on the state.

In Germany it is 14.

This is a lot of Me Too outrage calling legal sex “rape”.
Which is hilarious because they all knew. It just didn’t serve their purposes.
Harvey Weinstein day?
UFW day!
How many other democrap rapists are out there?
Why now? They always knew this about Chavez.
How many people know who Chavez was and if they actually give a crap about some rando migrant worker savage? Oh he raped someone? I thought they all do crap like that.
“Why now? They always knew this about Chavez.”
They didn’t care as long as they could use him for a prop for their open border agenda.
Correct. And now that his stance against illegal immigration is becoming more widely known, he must be erased from history. Leftists will make sure of it.
It’s stunning to me, how quickly the liberals are scrambling on this issue.
This man has been dead over thirty years. This woman was allegedly raped by him decades ago.And had children with him. Two older women say they were abused as teenagers decades ago.
Anyone else think this whole thing was orchestrated? Just the other day, this woman comes forward, and said she had children by Caesar Chavez.
There will apparently be no investigation, no attempts to find corroboration or dealing with what the truth of what happened was. Instead, the liberals are scrambling to cancel him. And they’re cancelling him within just a few days of someone coming forward with a decades old story.
Someone comes forward with a story. .And within just a couple of days, the entire world has set off a chain of events to erase this man from history.
Why was there such a knee jerk reaction to this story? Why do we not see knee jerk reactions to similar stories about other public figures? Why is it with others? We have seen investigations and look for corroboration of charges that are made against someone?
Why is this happening now? The children allegedly fathered by Cesar Chavez must be in their sixties by now. Why did this become a big story right now? And why has the reaction of the liberal world been to cancel this man who they admired up until last week?
The one thing that caught my eye is that California is trying to push 2 Muslim holidays as state holidays on the books (search for a Frontpagemag article by Daniel Greenfield). Seems awfully coincidental. Here’s the current state holiday list:
Thursday, January 1 New Year’s Day
Monday, January 19 Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Monday, February 16 Presidents’ Day
Tuesday, March 31 Cesar Chavez Day
Monday, May 25 Memorial Day
Saturday, July 4 Independence Day
Monday, September 7 Labor Day
Wednesday, November 11 Veterans Day
Thursday, November 26 Thanksgiving Day
Friday, November 27 Day after Thanksgiving
Friday, December 25 Christmas Day
This just appeared in the news last week. Did I miss earlier reports of it? How did the controlling authorities have the matter scheduled on their agendas. Something more is going on.
There is also “Armenian Holocaust Day” which has been designated a California state holiday in April:
“California has recognized Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day as a statewide holiday, officially designated as Genocide Awareness Day, observed annually on April 24.”
Hard to keep up with so many aggrieved “minorities” wanting their own special holidays.
There must be something afoot. They loved Harvey Weinstein until they caught wind of the Trump recording and suddenly all women must be believed. That didn’t help them get rid of Trump and they used the residual outrage to try to make Blasey Ford believable. Now the blessed and beloved Cesar.
Another orchestrated bimbo eruption because he was against bringing in illegal aliens?
