Gas in Los Angeles is $5.40 a gallon
March 12, 2026

Posted on 03/12/2026 7:46:25 AM PDT by Angelino97

This morning I went to buy gas in Los Angeles. The price at the pump per gallon was as follows:

Unleaded ... $5.3999

Plus ... $5.4999

Premium ... $5.5999

Yet some people here are complaining about gas in their states being $3.50 or $3.60.

I have a FB friend in northern Japan, who said that gasoline prices jumped over $1 a gallon overnight, to somewhere around $7 a gallon.

Discount gas, like Costco, went from right at $2 a gallon to $3.30 over the last 2 months here in the front range of Colorado, most of that in the last week.

Even $5 gas wouldnt change my vote in November, but the raising gas price is going to be the talking point on MSM for as long as they can milk it.

I understand a large percentage of the price in CA is the state gas tax.

That is cheap! In my rural CA town the gas is $6.19 per gallon. That includes the total taxes of $1.50.

Agreed. And when the price of gas goes down, blue states like California will raise gas taxes to keep the prices high, and still blame Trump years later.

I’m sure taxes add much to the price. But even so, gas was under $4 a few months ago.

Is there a plausible way you can blame Israel and Jews?

Iโ€™m complaining that itโ€™s $3.19 here in Texas

I moved to Denton two weeks ago. The price in Hickory Creek was $2.49 my first day here, yesterday it was $3.19; I've been working from home today so I don't know if it went higher. I still remember $4.59 gas 20 years ago, when the dollar was worth more, so if this is what it takes to crush jihadism, I'm all for it.

Was this the gas station on the corner of Beverly and LA Cienega? The prices there are always way high, even before the gas crisis.

Of course. We had the โ€œI did thisโ€ Biden stickers all over the place on gas pumps. So far, I havenโ€™t seen any for trump. Hopefully, we wonโ€™t.

There’s already discussion among oil analysts that the price of oil could easily hit $200 a barrel. That would translate into something like $10 a gallon gas at the pump if this continues.
