A woke Portland, Oregon, pizza restaurant bombarded diners visiting its website with an unhinged anti-ICE rant — before bizarrely claiming that food is political.
The note posted on Tastebud’s website, which has gone viral, called for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and surfaced weeks after the deaths of anti-ICE protesters Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
“Ice out everywhere,” the notice said.
“Food is political. No one is illegal on stole land. F‐-- Ice. Abolish Ice.”
The note then started to ramble about issues such as the Jeffrey Epstein files and transgender politics.
“Release the Trump/Epstein files. Free Palestine. Black Lives Matter. Trans women are women. Love your LGBTQ+ neighbors. The Holocaust was real,” the unhinged tirade continued.
Website visitors met with the note before they could subscribe to the restaurant’s newsletter.
Critics accused the restaurant of choosing politics over pies, with some promising to boycott the establishment.
The restaurant faced a torrent of backlash online and the note has since been toned down.
“Since receiving attention for our statement, we have experienced a surge of hateful, harassing, and abusive reviews, calls, and emails. This is concerning for our staff, our family, and our guests,” a Tastebud spokesperson told Fox News.
The restaurant told the outlet all diners are welcome.

“…before bizarrely claiming that food is political.“
Nothing bizarre about it as far as they go, EVERYTHING is political and you’ll deserve food only if you think right.
These are the people who will put you in cattle cars.
That's what I thought too. Without going back to count I think that puts them at 1 out of 6 right.
Wow. What a business model.
My thoughts exactly.
I wouldn’t trust the food in such a place
Guaranteed that there will be customers who are believed to be supporting ICE. Those customers will be sickened by additives to their food items. I think the owner has set himself up for someone to feign something was added to the pizza and seek financial revenge.
Well stated.
“Food is political.” could refer to the “glorious” Soviet leader Stalin, praised by American Communists like the singer Paul Robeson during his brutal reign in which the leader deliberately starved millions of people, denying all train and truck food deliveries and even loading railroad cars with the top soil from their land so they couldn’t adequately grow crops.
Interesting note:
“Jackie Robinson testified against Paul Robeson before the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) in 1949 out of a sense of responsibility, fearing Robeson’s comments about Black Americans’ loyalty in the Cold War would harm the Civil Rights Movement by alienating white allies and justifying racism, feeling he had to counter the narrative that Black people were disloyal, even though he later regretted the testimony. Robinson felt compelled to reassure the government and the public that Black Americans were committed to the U.S., not aligned with communism, and would fight for their country, despite their own struggles with discrimination.”
Mao used food as a weapon to starve up to a billion Mongolians who fought against Communism.
All over the world there could be (and are) disputes based on the date of someone really being the proper residents and the newcomers as living on stolen land. On each continent since the earliest recorded history.
Excellent reminder. Mao might be the number one despotic killer. He made it to Bill O’Reilly’s book Confronting Evil.
“And if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao,
You ain’t gonna make it with anyone anyhow.”
——Lenin, uh, I mean Lennon.
“...on stole land,”
The day they taught that boring English stuff the person was smoking dope and surfing the net for porn sites. Probably learned on the street from neighbors such as “Jalen’s ride done got stole. It was in the lot right behind the bar a block from his crib.”
Proper use of “stole” and “stolen”.
The word stolen acts as the past participle of the irregular verb steal and as an adjective. It functions as a verb in perfect tenses or passive voice (e.g., “has stolen,” “was stolen”), and as an adjective to describe a noun (e.g., “stolen goods”).
Verb (Past Participle): Used with auxiliary verbs like “have” or “be” (e.g., “They have stolen the car” or “The car was stolen”).
Can you imagine the enlightenment they experienced as they now could read that treasured newsletter and feel a spiritual epiphany of wokeness? Breathtaking.
Great way to define your clientele. Should work in Portland.
It's Portland.
Steve Kerr speaks trash about Trash. But then again, his fans are from San Francisco. It's good for business.
They probably ate them too
Those with objections need to buy some pro-ICE stickers and put them on the windows of this diner.
“’Food is political because care has become political,’ the toned-down note says.”
And if you argue with them, they’ll send you to a concentration camp, where you won’t get any food at all?
“The Holocaust was real,”
Uh-oh, they’ve violated the first rule of Intersectionality, which is that Jews and Christians are bad and to deny and ignore anything that happens to them unless it happens to be politically expedient to Democrats.
