Judges are above everyone. All over the world.
Thus my whole problem with judged sports. I like absolute points. The only judged sport worth anything is ski jumping and that’s because the distance is what matters most, the judges are just looking for stuff that helps you jump well anyway and are really just to offset random wind that might shave a bit off a jump. All the rest, too subjective.
I stopped caring about the Olympics after “The Miracle On Ice”. (1980). I saw what I wanted to see. It wasn’t long after that that I flushed the MFL. Two many fur coats, earrings and injuries on the sidelines. Never was a basketball fan. Too much showboating.
The snowboarders Chris Lillis and Hunter Hess announced that they have difficulty with their allegiance to the Flag of the USA and like the NFL losers before them, took no effort to name exactly what it is about our Constitution or Declaration that they have a problem with
The Olympic committee sees fit to continue funding these mouth-breathing excuses for US Olympic athletes therefor one has to actively avoid them, which I do.
Bu I do watch the skating
Women’s skating is coming up
Requesting no more spoilers here please.
What happened to the old “throw out the high. Throw out the low” that was used in skating scores to neutral partisan judges?
Jezebel??!!
Are Americans getting screwed in the Olympics? Wow who woulda thunk it?
This is one thing AI could solve…get validated software all countries involved can check for any bias (unlike our voting machines).
So? Seems the childish olympians hate law and order, so why should they benefit from a fair system of judging?
IMHO, Madison Chock is perhaps the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, in form, motion, spirit, and sensuality... the totality of what it is to be feminine.
Wasn’t Jézabel Dabois Marlon Brando’s love interest from “On the Waterfront”?
Once the Olympics let professionals play, they lost all their luster and meaning.
Remember the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake? French judge conspired with the Russian judge and the ioc had to step in and giving the Canadian couple gold in pairs
I like the Olympics and ice dancing is my favorite event in the winter Olympics. This reminds me of the 2002 Olympics when it was also a French judge who cheated by scoring extra points for the Russian team in exchange for their scoring high for a French team. In that case the IOC ended up giving out two sets of gold medals and banning the cheating judge for three years. I don’t understand it wasn’t a ban for life.
A competitive event that is based entirely on judges’ scoring isn’t even a real sport and has no place in the Olympics.
Olympic judges have been biased for decades, especially the USA.
1960 Olympics. 100 meter butterfly swimming event. The American Lance Larson had a swim time of 55.1 seconds electronically recorded. The Australian behind him had 55.2 seconds. But the judges ruled in favor of the Australian and he got the gold. Then Lance had his time officially recorded as 55.2 to help cover it up.

France picking up where East Germany and the Soviet Union left off.
Judged events need to find a way to do without judges. It’s hard to get interested in what’s going on if only the judges know what’s going on. Even ski jumping has it’s judged beauty points system that keeps everything a mystery until the big reveal. Good thing Russia isn’t at this Olympics or the judging would really suck.
