Used my Linux Mint 20 Pc to post some text the other day and it disappeared. That supports the theory that it was not just a Windows 11 problem. Rather than wasting any more time with disappearing text, I'm going to retire from Free Republic. RIP.

Sounds like he made some postings to Free Republic that disappeared somehow or was perhaps removed without explanation nor notice.

Disappearing text is the exact same excuse I use when I forget something important. “Sorry boss, I sent it in email. It must have been disappearing text...”
“My dog peed on it. “

If it’s a laptop there’s a good chance you’re accidently skimming the touch pad with your thumb while typing. Depending on what you’re doing it may be highlighting all the text and then when you start typing it erases it. Try disabling the touch pad.
No! Wait! Don’t go! Come back! This is fun
I get it:
Text disappears, so

Very funny. Now go to your room, and don’t come out until we’re ready.
