If you lock up people who are inclined toward unprovoked violence you will have about a 50% drop in crime.

But we do not want to do that.

We want to lock up people for not filling out the correct paperwork before repainting their door.

Yep, lock up repeat offenders and it drops like a rock.

Live in California, and was a tourist in Manhattan? Too bad she got stabbed? But WTH?

Manhattan? Couldn’t get a flight to Yemen or Congo?

I do not understand why this seems to be a controversial idea.

We are not talking that many people. A fraction of a percent of humans are inclined to unprovoked violence.

Most of us have to be pushed pretty darn hard before we raise a hand to another person.

But there seems to be a major effort made to keep the violent people out and roaming free.

She looks like a skanky Zoloft Madmammy jock supporter.

So she could blend into the crowd in New York.

As Jimmy Durante said to the appreciate audience about his jokes:

"I got a million of 'em."

One thing I never thought of.
Heard someone say many of the various prescriptions advertised warn that the patient should seek help for “suicidal thoughts” for example. Even for drugs that are not for depression or other problems. Even the fat loss ones.

He said what if only 5% of the millions taking the drugs have a bad mental reaction. That’s a large army of unhinged people.

CDC number as of 2024:
“Americans take approximately 670 million defined daily doses of prescription drugs each day.”

The pendulum against forced commitment to a mental health facility has swung to far against that action. It needs to swing back to more frequent forced commitments, but past practice shows there is also a need for more safeguards, monitoring and auditing of those facilities.

Too many abuses in too many institutions for too long led to the closing of most facilities and no great commitment was made for alternate facilities, leading to the present situation where few who ought to be forcibly committed are left to navigate life on their own.

There are enough sights and attractions to keep one entertained and amused for quite a while. That said it would never be a relaxing one like a beachside resort. Your Spidey Senses have to be on round the clock.

Just because someone’s on a psychoactive drug doesn’t mean they aren’t a murderous psycho. The two aren’t mutually exclusive.

I would not doubt that for a minute. And the CIA has millions of them, men and women all primed and ready to go. All they need is their handlers to point them in the direction they want them to go.
