Fishy / Phishy website
various | January 4, 2026 | self / Brave AI

musk26.com is a recently registered website with a low trust score, flagged as suspicious due to several red flags identified by online security evaluators. The domain was registered on January 3, 2026, making it very new as of January 4, 2026. It claims to be associated with Elon Musk and Tesla, promoting a cryptocurrency giveaway under the title "Elon Musk & Tesla: Giveaway".

The site uses a valid SSL certificate issued by Google Trust Services, indicating encrypted communication, but the certificate is of the basic Domain Validated (DV SSL) type, which is commonly used even by scammers. The domain is registered through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED, a registrar associated with a high number of websites that have low trust ratings. Additionally, iQ Abuse Scan has flagged musk26.com for phishing, indicating it may be involved in attempts to steal personal or financial information by impersonating a legitimate entity.

The website has very few visitors, which is typical for newly created scam sites, and its WHOIS data is hidden, preventing transparency about the site’s ownership. These factors—recent registration, association with a high-profile figure like Elon Musk, promises of financial rewards, and technical indicators of phishing—align with patterns seen in previous scams involving fake Elon Musk giveaways on social media platforms.

Given the current date of January 4, 2026, and the domain’s registration on January 3, 2026, the site has been active for less than a day, further increasing suspicion as legitimate businesses typically do not operate with such immediacy and obscurity.

(during a YouTube video, I saw a short ad, probably generated by AI, showing purported Elon Musk with two unexplained other men, saying "visit MUSK26.COM" or "you'll regret it". The above response resulted from my using Brave to ask "what is musk26.com?")

On X I have at least 10 fake Musk accounts following me. That is what happens when you respond to one of them. When it eventually got around to the asking for money part I didn’t bite.

Yes… long time scam. Similar “sucker” SCAMS have also popped up claiming to be associated with SpaceX. Don’t even click on such “invitations”.

SSL certificate only certifies the website is the website, nothing more it does not certify the content of the website. So I'm thinking something might be up with that... And on YouTube, very reliable, It must be true

Odd, eh, that Google/YouTube hasn't done anything about this? From the FRchives, the GARM keyword, sorted:
