As Trump’s downward spiral starts producing harsher media coverage, a writer who regularly dissects MAGA and political media explains why he’s entering a tailspin that will be very hard to reverse.
Suddenly, media outlets seem to have figured out that President Donald Trump is really, really unpopular. There’s been a palpable shift in the discourse: The New York Times reports that Republicans are quietly looking beyond Trump, suggesting he’s losing his grip on the party. Axios claims that it’s “red alert” time for Trump and the GOP. Politico describes how Republicans are getting routed in school board races, a sign that MAGA culture-warring has lost its sway and is even backfiring. And one CNN analyst offers a brutal reading of recent approval numbers on Trump, pronouncing them “atrocious.” We talked to Salon’s Amanda Marcotte, who regularly dissects MAGA and media foibles alike. We discuss why the political media smells blood, how deepening splits in MAGA show Trump’s weakness, what it means that the Trump-MAGA culture war and immigration raids are badly alienating ordinary voters, and how Trump is in a potentially irreversible tailspin. “Trump really stepped in it this time! It’s all over for him now! The walls are closing in!” #3,724,911.”

I was just about to say, It’s Monday and this is new narrative. Last week MAGA was on the verge of civil war. Next week, what? Russia, Russia? No, wait . . .
Media was being nice to Trump before ?
Or perhaps the magnesium fire white hot rage we felt has calmed some along with the Democrats fighting for the local seats rather than assume the peasants will support their "betters".
Seriously? Who?
This is just more proof that the losing crazies on the left are at the end of their rope. Trump is winning, winning, winning!!
Such a statement from the same media during Obama - who literally did nothing.

Sounds about right. I lost count at #3,297,994
Several here agree
We know who they are
Every time I read one of these I am reminded that these are appendages of the Democratic party with no other goals but to depress Republican turnout at the mid terms. This is even before the Supremes overturn the VRA which seems inevitable and probably will happen at the beginning of the year or even right before the Christmas holiday. These parties have gerrymandered their districts so thoroughly that of the 435 house seats only 69 of them were under 10% spread last election of which 44 of those 69 were won by the dems. If, before redistricting happens there is a 10% national swing they would only pick up 25 seats (ain’t happening across the board). The Republican party needs to gin up a reason for their erratic voters to show up in ‘26 and everything will be fine.
“As Trump’s downward spiral starts producing harsher media coverage”. That ain’t exactly journalism Greg: who, what, where, when and how, right?
Personally, I think he says whatever in a way to keep everybody off guard, especially the neocons with the Ukraine war. One minute, he is for Zelensky to get more weapons, the next, he’s not. He keeps the necons guessing so that they don’t ultimately try to damage him, always thinking he will come on board. He is doing this because, I believe, he wants Putin to take as much of Ukraine as he wants. The necons are both Putin and Trump’s enemies: think spying on Trump, Russiagate, two impeachments, stolen 2020 election, no loyalty from the FBI or CIA (who also plotted against him), the Jan 6 Insurrection, Maralago rampage by the FBI, lawfare on taxes and bimbos, and... two assassination attempts. Did I miss anything? All that does something to a man. The neocons were after Putin in much the same way and stole the Ukrainian election in 2014 with the color revolution. So, Ukraine, the crown jewel of the neocons, will be taken from them by Putin and Trump. Trump sees Putin as a friend whom he can trust and who also suffered from the neocons. So he keeps them guessing till he can destroy them.
Another manufactured narrative!
He's on the plateau..
Wot...wait....he fell off into the abyss.
He was just pining for the fjords.

>> As Trump’s downward spiral starts producing harsher media coverage
LOL, WUT??
Trump’s media coverage started out harsher, got harsher, and now it’s harsher. The 4D Trumphitler downward gaslighting spirochete.
Trump is kicking butt. He’s got a lot on his plate but really, best president ever!
This could be the beginning of the end...
Yeah it’s not like the media has done anything but sing Trumps praises...
