I googled it and here is what came up.
While the brand Royal Dansk states its cookies are made in Denmark, some cookies sold under the “Danish style” or similar names in India are made there. It’s crucial to check the packaging and product description to confirm the country of origin, as both Royal Dansk (made in Denmark) and “Danish style” cookies made in India are sold in the market.
Cookies made in Denmark
Brand: Royal Dansk
Origin: The company states its cookies are made in its factories in Nørre Snede and Ribe, Denmark.
Key indicator: The iconic blue tin is a key indicator of the original Royal Dansk brand.
Cookies made in India
Brand: Other brands and some varieties are made in India.
Example: Some “Danish style” butter cookies sold in India are manufactured there, and online listings for some “Royal Dansk” products may also specify “Made in India”.
Key indicator: Check the product description or packaging for “Made in India” to be sure.
How to choose
To ensure you are buying the original Royal Dansk, look for the authentic blue tin and check that it says “Made in Denmark” on the packaging.
If the product description specifies “Made in India,” it is a different product, even if it’s also a butter cookie.
“or Chinese for that matter, using gutter oil—it might get your attention too.”
I’ve seen those videos! That is beyond gross.
Then I saw Indian men making cookie dough with their feet. BLECH>
I always thought those cookies were not meant to be eaten but were to be thrown out so the tin could be used for sewing supplies.
Looks just like Mexico. I was sick for 6 weeks after we got back to the states.
Similar cookies sold at Rose’s and Walmart are indeed made in India.
Seed it wif mah own eyez! AND showed the manager at Rose’s this video!!!!!
These are knockoffs of the Royal Dansk cookies, so RD is good.
How about the video of the Indian woman spitting in the pot she was cooking instead of adding water!!!! Or the man shooing the mice away from the food he was packing up - the mice ran OVER the food!!!!!
“”””””Royal Dansk Danish cookies are made in India.””””””
Internet fake, they aren’t.
Tut tut tut, all cultures are equal...
There’s been a real uptick in anti-India propaganda on the Internet of late. My best guess is that China is responsible for it.
Product knock offs are sold in the dollar stores. Similar packaging not the same.
IDK if true, but I’ve read that many products print that they’re made in one country (that doesn’t suck), but actually are made somewhere disgusting. They just “launder” the product by passing it through the not-suck country to make it appear legit.
I guess you never know much for sure. “Ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chances.”
I agree. My PCP is Indian. He’s fantastic and he is impeccable. And when I need a specialist...He sends me to the very best. He’s very impressive...and very kind....and special note...he listens.
Anybody over 40 or so, shouldn’t be eating cookies, period.
[...flavor was just slightly off ...]
They’re jarred in water from the Ganges river. That’s where the green tint comes from. I’ve seen several brands of pickles packed in India.
I gave up cookies...and eat more bacon...and real butter on my toast
Dansk tins said they were made in Denmark.
Marketing ploy?.
read the table. " made in india".
I can’t speak for Kipp, but I’m not a Brit and I call them tins. Because thats what they’re called.
Me too, bacon and butter are my friends. They’re even good together. Can’t say that for other friends like pizza and chocolate. :D
But cookies are bad companions.
My can of Danish Butter Cookies says Baked and Packed by Kelsen Group A/s Bregarde 27 DK-8766 Nr Snrdr Denmark Product of Denmark. They are bought from Walmart and are always there
Once I did in fact purchase an identical looking can of Danish Butter Cookies that were decidedly inferior. I believe they were in fact baked in India. The shapes and numbers of the different shaped cookies was identical to the real thing. I think the Indian cookies were made without either butter or sugar
