MADISON, WI - A person who arrived at a Madison's west side Taco Bell with a gunshot wound late Sunday night is expected to survive after being transported to a local hospital, police said Monday.
The incident occurred at the Taco Bell located at Odana Road and Whitney Way. A News 3 Now photographer on-scene reported seeing multiple Madison Police patrol cars and fire department vehicles responded to the scene at around 10:06 p.m.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Police said they do not believe there is any danger to the public at this time, but the investigation remains ongoing.
The Madison Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit will be leading the investigation.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.

I don’t always get shot, but when I do, I go straight to Taco Bell.
So now Taco Bells also serve as a hospital?
Guess that’s why they won The Franchise Wars.
Probably better than the emergency room.

I used to eat at that Taco Bell a decade ago when I worked at the old Wisconsin DOT building. It is notable because you had to climb a flight of stairs to get to the main area, a poor choice for a wounded man.
“Damnit! Shot again...
Doesn’t appear life threatening?
Might as well dip into the Taco Bell before heading to the hospital. Besides... Hospital food sucks...”
This explains why there is a Taco Bell here, literally a block from the Hospital.
Ambulance drivers get confused all the time and stop at Taco Bell instead of the ER................
I once worked a guy who was over 300lb and he had a band put on his stomach to lose weight. The first thing he did when he got home had his wife make him a dozen eggs and a pound of bacon like he always did. he almost died but recovered and never pulled that stunt again.
So when did Taco Bell add ERs to their dining areas? I think I can understand why somebody shot this idiot.
Something like this happened a long time ago in Chicongo. A black man was reported as waiting in line at a White Castle suffering from a gunshot wound.
When an officer was asked about the incident and why the victim went to White Castle instead of the hospital, he replied, “I don’t know. Maybe that stuff is like plasma to those people.”
