Mysterious interstellar object 3I/ATLAS has reemerged from behind the Sun, allowing astronomers to once again get a glimpse at the rare visitor...and is expected to make its closest pass of the Earth just days before Christmas on its way back out of our star system....
.. judging by the latest data, ...Loeb suggests that if 3I/ATLAS really is a visitor from a technological civilization — a possibility he’s floated repeatedly — then it may be trying to boost its exit from the solar system to a breakneck pace. (Let’s face it: getting away from Earth as rapidly as possible makes perfect sense these days.)
“Technological thrusters which point their exhaust towards the Sun would accelerate away from the Sun,” Loeb noted in his latest blog post. “This post-perihelion maneuver might be employed by a spacecraft that aims to gain speed rather than slow down through the gravitational assist from the Sun.”
These jets could also be evidence of “thrusters on a technological spacecraft,” as he told NBC News on Monday....
It’s only one of several “anomalies” Loeb has catalogued to support his theory that 3I/ATLAS could be some sort of alien spacecraft visiting the solar system.

Leob is the only one talking about this. If it were truly showing signs of “intelligence” the world would be talking about this.
It is past the orbit of Mars now . Jupiter is the next planet it will get close to but not as close as it got to Mars. Too bad it is going too fast to ever get a sample. Probably been wondering between the stars longer than the Sun has.
It’s notable that Loeb describes an acceleration away from the sun but doesn’t tell us its magnitude, which would be quite easy to calculate from observational data. If it were simply due to gasses escaping at its surface due to heat from the sun, the magnitude would be quite low. If it were, for instance, energy from a nuclear thruster, it would likely be much higher. It’s my opinion that it’s the former, and Loeb simply wants his fantasies to continue until it has disappeared forever.
I read some of the work on the observations. The acceleration is extremely low, in line with what could be expected from outgassing.

Indeed. He’s enjoying his 15 seconds of fame, no doubt. And it’s not just him- there are sensational videos galore on YouTube with his face, making all sorts of claims as to what 3I/ATLAS is doing.
In my eyes, he’s a charlatan, and has no credibility whatsoever.

I can attest to the slow acceloration from outgassing.
They wanted to see if there was intelligent life in New York City and Virginia, but after the elections, they knew there's no intelligent life in those two places... 😀
For some intelligent means to know how they can obtain for free what others earned, but not wise enough to know or care that short gain means long term loss, and that they are accountable to God for their selfishness. For others, they are genuinely deluded enough to believe the lies of the devil.
True, though he has his supporters, yet nothing compared to panspermia postulators seeking explanations for life on earth that do not invoke God.
